I have a Pioneer DV-400v HTMI DVD player going digital coaxed into a
M-audio CO2 converter/repeater. Then from there it gets (converted) and sent
opticaly into my Onkyo HT-R520 reciver and (repeated) Digital Coaxed into my
Philips HTS3555. I did this because I cound not find a digital coax splitter
anywere. Anyway my problem is there is a delay in the sound between the two
system. I have turned off all built in room size mimiking adjustment delays
on both units. On the Onkyo I have adjusted the front speakers dB down to
-8dB and the center channel down to -4dB. I then play the Onkyo at a lower
volume then I play the Phillips. This tends to mask the delay a bit. Does
anyone now if this a common problem with running two Surround Sound system
from a single source? The delay is in the milliseconds and very noticable
when actors talk.

Doubtful More than likely, it is the conversion that takes more time
than the repeating. Another option is to feed one system and slave
the other to it.
Sure.

Philips losing the digital signal momentarily ever so often so I thought I
need something better. But even then I still had the delay problem.
I have 2 systems running because it sounds pretty awesome. They are both
1000 watt systems and it cranks when I play concert DVDs
I think my problem now maybe is that one systems converts 5.1 faster then
the other system does. The Onkyo is about 3 years older then the Philips.
Also I want to add I had to make that 75ohm splitter cable. Try and find a
RCA jacked splitter for video. Bestbuy, Circuit City, even Radio Shack
didn't have one. I even searched the internet for days looking.

by the conversion. You should try a regular high quality 75Ohm video
splitter and see if it will do the job. (Mebbe even a Y cable.)
BTW, why do you need two systems to play at the same time?
