Question about HP Photosmart C4580 All-in-One InkJet Printer
I'm trying to scan documents to microsoft word using my HP Photosmart C4580 all-in-one printer, scanner, copier. I've tried scanning to txt format but get nothing but gibberish - text that doesn't make sense. I can't seem to figure out how to scan to Microsoft Word. Any help would be appreciated.
I have scanned a picture using CanoScan and would like to send it as an attachment using my Microsoft Word email. How do I do that?

Unless I am mistaken. Scanners save scanned documents as a picture . To convert from a picture to a text or word file of some sort would take special hardware and software. What you scan is a picture of words not a text or word file.

This printer DID have an option of scanning text into word. We did it with a 45 page document, went directly into MS word. Tables and all, editable text. I updated to the latest driver to fix an error I was having during shutdown, and with the new driver, the option of "Scan to MS Word" has gone away. Now all it seems to want to do is scan the image and drop the image into word.
