Question about PC Desktops

I recently started usijng a Lexmark1X1240 that I have had but not used. It was printing fine. I was able to make quite a few valentines without any problems. Then typed into the word program a long name add, tel # list and nothing would print out as the papers ran through but the lines. I've tried other things to print to see if it was just that program but it has been consistent. Sometimes pictures that were already on the page may print out but not all. How can I find out WHAT HAPPENED?

for the test: ist page came thru blank. 2nd page had a scattering of mostly the small
puctures on your page ie: Ekse in a red & yellow square. There was a small amt of printing under the space that says "add a comment" but very blurry. Then 3 more small pictures of computers(i think) After that a 3rd page came through , following up with the small pictures of ?computers, says "get expert assist.and a small picture of an expert the name looks likeBogdan? Blank until the bottom of page with another small amount of print. Then 4th page came through with a small mpicture at top and says something like "can you see the problems?"

The issue sounds like cleaning the print cartridges. You can clean the cartridges by using a soft cloth and also clean where the cartridges were seated.

Reseat them, then go to printer settings by clicking on control panel-> printer & faxes-> right click on the printer icon-> select the properties option-> advanced tab-> printing defaults-> features-> printing services. From there align the cartridges.

Try doing a print test with the software and diagnosics,
left click the lexmark tray icon on the task bar and you should see the options or tools to fix this

Hope this helps

First off let me thank you for using Fixya.com
Now I think the problem that your having might be two things one being that the print head might have gone out . But before that try and reinstall the drivers and run a few cleaning cycles. If that doesn't fix the issue then most likely its the print head.

Thanks

The print head would cost more than the printer would to repair. Its not really something you could replace

    hi again

you need to open the lexmark solutions center that came with the printer.

pictures and instructions in the user manual

    http://www.lexmark.com/publications/pdfs...

    page 8.

    open the maintenance tab

    perform the following tasks

    Clean to fix horizontal streaks.

    Align to fix blurry edges

I can't see all the maintenance options, can you go over all of them, I'm looking for alingment or print head cleaning. Try them all please.

Check you have the latest flash player installed, they update quite often and often content stops working full screen without the latest version.

Can't reinstall printer- ''print spooler is not working''

If you have the windows disk for it , Save everything important to disks.  Put WIndows  disk into machine and tell it to install. It will find you version and ask if you wish to repair it, Say yes.   If you have Xp pro just "Restore" computer to the date before the problem started. If you have neither one. Save you work and then reinstall everything using your backup disks.

My HP Computer is giving me many problems. I got it from a retnal store and is was in brand new condition, when it first got the computer there were no problems. Then a few months ago it started acting up....

download malwarebytes on another computer and burn the installer to cd. start up your computer and insert the cd. install malwarebytes from the cd and update. remove the cd, reboot and go into safe mode. run malwarebytes and allow it to remove whatever it finds. from your description and just to be on the safe side I would run it twice. reboot into regular mode and your computer should be running much better. run malwarebytes at least once a week, in regular mode is fine unless the computer is really bad again, in which case run in safe mode.

Microsoft installed some sort of update to my XP yesterday. Now my computer keeps stalling out and the motor(?) starts revving like crazy and won't quit. I have to keep shutting it down. What is going on?!

This is why I don't have the automatic updates on. Perform a restore if you can back a few days ago and see what happens. Also if you can get into the add remove program you MAY see recent updates, and remove....

Hello, my problem is when i turn my PC on there comes an error named : b0 error. I searched solution and for some people it works but not for me. Can you help me pleasee???

Hi Yimiden,

A solution to the problem is to insert the OS X install cd without pressing any key. When the install times out, OS X should boot from the harddisk. To make a partition active, do this:
  • Start Terminal.app
  • Enter:
sudo -s (enter your password)
fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0 (the disk number may be different on your installation, eg. rdisk1)
print (list all partitions)
flag 1 (sets partition 1 as bootable - might be a different number on your installation)
quit (answer y to save settings)
  • Now reboot the computer. You should now be able to boot without the install cd. .

When this solution does not work, try this:
Start the computer with the CD.
Wait until you can start the Terminal from the menu
Type this:
fdisk -u /dev/rdisk0 (or any other number if it is not the first disk)
Quit the Terminal
Quit the Installer
A dialog box apears
Click "Choose Startup Disk"
Choose your first disk
Click Reboot . . . . . .

Please give me a feed back if this is useful
