Factory Default Setting:
When the unit is first connected to a power supply, the
electronic circuit board will automatically default to the
following factory settings;
Mode: Dehumidifier
Humidity Set Air Value:60% RH
Fan Speed: = Low
NOTE: In the event of a power failure or the unit is
switched ‘Off’, the most recent settings are retained and
restored once the power is switched “On”/resumed.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Depending on the ambient humidity
conditions, when power is restored or switched ‘On’ the
dehumidifier may not start automatically under the factory
or custom (see page 7) default setting. This is an indication
that the ambient RH% level of the surrounding environment
is lower than the current default setting and it
may be necessary to select a lower set RH% value.

Why is the air coming out is cold

Because a dehumidifier is actually a air conditioner that runs very 'poorly' The way to get the water out of the air is to have a difference in temperatures ... remember in the 4th grade science class when the teacher talked about the DEW point? That natural law applies here.

Secondly, air i motion generally feels cooler than air not in motion. It is one of Newtons laws (I think)

Stays on fan and wont switch to the water symbol

Did you just empty the container? We have one that sometimes you have to slam it back in to get the red light off. Try to take it out and put it back in. Power it off even if you have to unplug it.

It blows cold air while in heat mode

I have the same problem, I have a defect in the heater electric circuit, 2 small electronic things that looked like small pens with red end, no idea yet what they do, are located directly onto the heater element are faulty, I bypassed them to test the heater and it worked, either one or both requires replacement, tomorrow I,ll go to adisson buying the 2 for 99 cents each, re-weld the circuit and bang, ready to run for another couple of years
