How to shuffle

I have a 5 CD player. Is it possible to shuffle between discs? I know how to shuffle tracks on a single CD

Shuffle between 5 CDs would consume time as CD mechanism will unload previous CD and load another CD for playback a track then again same process to access a track so this function is not good for CD mechanism durability thats why it is not provided.
I have seen CD shuffle option in 3 CD players as these mechanism are not so complicated.

You can shuffle within a cd but not between or among cd's for the reason stated above. This is a shame actually because I had a 5 disc cd player a few years ago that would shuffle among the cd's and the tunes. It appears that once the functiond for DVD's were added that grand little shuffle feature went out the window.

The player will read dvd but will not play cd

Richard: This is what EHow.com said: "
  • Turn on the DVD player. It generally takes a few seconds to get going. Take out the DVD if there's one in the drive already.
  • 2 Make sure the disc isn't scratched or dirty. Use a soft rag to clean the disc if you see any smudges. Insert the CD into the DVD player's disc drive and close it.
  • 3 Press the "Play" button on the DVD player or remote control. Some DVD players will begin reading the disc automatically. Pushing the button works just as well.
  • 4 Use the "Scene Selection" buttons on your remote to select a track. Some DVD players have odd ways of ordering the buttons on the remote. You might have to play around a bit before you find all the right buttons to work the CD playing function of your machine.
  • 5 Crank it up and enjoy your music. The DVD player will act just like a CD player and play the tracks of the CD through the TV.

Dvd player says no disc when I put in movie to play

HI.This will occur when the optical assembly becomes unstable. this ((Whole One Piece)), assembly incorporates the spin/load motor, optics housing /arm, tracking device and tracking rail. This is connected to the loading dock assembly. This 'NO/BAD Disc' or CD NOT PLAYABLE, code is the result of a failed or burned out lens. It is possible that you have a dirty lens cap. you can try using a cleaning disk in this case to confirm actual lens failure. if the cleaning doesn't restore normal reading capabilities, this will confirm my diagnosis.

You will need to have the optical assembly replaced in this case. once replaced, your unit will be able to read and track once more.

If this happened after a power surge, it's possible that one or more capacitors in the power supply have been damaged, and that could cause the player to act up. Otherwise, the symptom you're experiencing is a classic one of the laser pickup not reading the tracks on the disc (assuming you meant to say it switches the disc after approx 5 Seconds). If it is within the warranty period, it would be worth getting looked into. You can get a good CD/DVD player to act up like this by placing the discs upside down on the platter.
