we're not sure if it's with the seal around the inside of the door, but some clothes will get caught and if not noticed right away will get hot and actually burn.

FRIGIDAIRE GALLERY MODEL # FDE847GCSO - clothes can get caught in the drum - between the drum & the front of the dryer.

  • gatrejo Mar 22, 2009

I have the same problem. My model number is 417.98702892. It says Kenmoore, but I think it was made for Sears.

  • hollyhawk311 Apr 12, 2009

my clothes too, are coming out with small brown marks where they appear to be getting stuck between the edge of the drum and the front wall of the dryer. the ties and cords on clothes especially get caught and scorched!!

If you could provide a complete model number and serial, i will be able to assist you with accuracy. The model number you provided isn't correct.

There must be problum with the felt change it

  • teresagil344 Sep 04, 2010

The problem is probably the felt guide that is located between the drum and the door front. The felt has several plastic guides that tend to wear out over time, but usually there is a reason for this. In order to replace the felt guide, you will need to take the entire front of the dryer off, remove the old felt and glue on a new one (these are sold in 2 parts- a lower and upper felt). While you have the front off, it is probably wise to check the belt (that has probably worn from the drum being off center). If you are really ambitious, you can lube the bearings that are located behind the drum. Don't wait to long to repair this or you may run into a blower motor issue. Wfhen the drum gets off center, lint tends to build up inside the dryer chasis where the motor is located (this can burn your motor out). Good Luck

I have a frigidaire gallery microwave, lately it smells like wires burning when I use it,,, it is around 5 years old..

if it smells like wire burning, shut down the microwave immediately. give it the sniff test by sniffing around microwave to ensure smell is coming from microwave, check receptacle also. The microwave may not worth repairing bases on age and what a comparable new model cost. If receptacle call electrical to inspect and repair. What would you do if it caught fire, your life and home are worth more than a microwave.

There is a gasket that fits around the back side of the tumbler. Sounds like it needs replacing. It's job is to keep clothes inside the tumbler.

Clothes getting jammed

When this model has the problem of clothes getting caught, the most common reason is the felt and glides are worn and should be replaced. Unless the clothes have been getting caught from the first time you owned this dryer, I would explore that first.

Please ask more questions if needed. Good Luck.
