The "File System Error" message is bad - it means that, rather than deleting just music files, you have accidentally deleted a key system file required for the Go Gear to operate properly. If you are still under warranty, call Philips and get a replacement GoGear, because they do not provide replacement files.

File format erro

Hi jean_walk692
What your MP3 player is telling you is that it will not play those songs/videos because they are the wrong format for your player.
You will have to check your user manual for the right type of format for the files for your player.
You must format all the songs/videos for your MP3 player and it will work fine then.
For a free format converter go to the following webpage:

Gigaware mp3 and when i turn it on, it says File System Error!!!

Get a small pin and insert it in the reset hole on the side or bottom of the device. It will format the disk, erase it and reset it to factory settings. You lose everything, but can reinstall it. First open up the drive and copy all songs to your disk or a flash drive, perform reset option then reinstall all music over.

File system error

If you have a file system error, The only way to repair it is to format it. You need to have it connected to pc, then go to my computer, then to go F: drive or whatever drive the player is on, then you can access the files from there.

If you reformated the mp3 player's hard drive, the problem probably is that it can't find it's firmware which is supposed to be located on it's hard drive. To fix this, simply copy the GBSYSTEM folder located (usually) in C:\Program Files\TOSHIBA\gigabeat room 2.0.2 to your mp3 player's root.
