Finisher Installation for Ricoh 2051

I would like to be able to hole-punch and staple when I send a print job to the printer but it says the finisher needed wasn't installed. Which disc is that on? The manuals are useless.

It has the capability to hole punch and staple. I actually resolved this issue on my own a little while ago. Thank you tho!

I had to go into the printer's properties. Under the Accessories tab, if the copy tray is checked, you can't use any of the finisher options. If you uncheck the copy tray, you can now choose booklet finisher (which allows stapling and punching) or the other finisher options.

Open the properties of the print driver and click on the accessories tab. from there you can check off the accessories you have. if you are not sure which finisher to check off, print a configuration page from the machine and the kind of finisher will be somewhere on the top of the page

How do I reload staples into my Xerox WorkCentre 7530?

You did not indicate finisher? Xerox MFPs' come with the most finishing options of any manufacturer.... I included instructions for all of them below. Enjoy!
Solution : Load Staples in the Professional Finisher With Booklet Maker The stapler in the booklet maker uses two Staple Cartridges labeled R2 and R3. Booklet stapling requires that both Staple Cartridges be free of jammed staples.
WARNING: Do not perform this procedure when the printer is copying or printing.
  1. Make sure the printer has stopped copying or printing.
  2. Open the Finisher Front Door.

  3. Squeeze the orange R2 and R3 levers together and pull the Staple Cartridge unit out of the Finisher until it stops.

NOTE: The Staple Cartridge unit does not detach from the Finisher.

What is a finisher

A finisher is also called a sorter. In the days of analog copiers they were more important because of the way the copy process was but not so much in the days of digital copiers.

The finisher in the days of analog copiers is what allowed you to make multiple sets of a document and have them come out (sorted also called colated) page one through one hundred or however many pages were in the document. In today's digital world a copier can do that with out a finisher.

So why would anyone need a finisher know you must ask; well a finisher can also be used to staple or 2 and 3 hole punch your documents depending on the finisher you purchase.

I hope this was helpful,
Shawn

I have a Ricoh Aficio 1035 stapler problem.

if you press the finishing button on the display does it so stapler function there ? or try taking the staple cartridge out and then close the door on the finisher and see if it says out of staples. if it does it knows it has a stapler unit.

What does "attach finisher to main unit" mean?

the finisher is the unit that staples, collates, punches, staples. it is to the left of the copier and slides away. when it is slide away the copier will show the message. theer is an interlock switch that tells the machine it is against it. your switch could be bad. more likely the peg or arm is bent and not engaging the switch. should be an easy fix.
