Question about HP OfficeJet 7310 All-In-One InkJet Printer

L7680 all in one W/big & wide dark vertical line

When I scan or copy on my L7680 I get a wide dark vertical line of different shades on the output. I get the same result when I put the original on the glass or feed it view the top document feeder. There is no problem when I print a document from the printer. It’s from the top of my page to bottom & covers over half the sheet. When a color copy is done the whole page is 3or so different colors. Any help with this?
Thanks People!

I have the same problem. Cleaning the glass is not a fix. The problem is the same on the bed and on the sheet feeder. The sheet feeder is scanned differently than the bed. My copies have one line from the top to the bottom.

I have horizontal lines running thru my copies on my L7680. Checked ink cartridge and printhead status and all is ok

Hi David,

Open the Front access door. You will find 2 Printheads. Check for an option on printer screen to Replace Printheads.

Remove the Printheads, Clean the contacts with lint free cloth ( golden electrical contacts )

Place the Printhead and close the Door.

This should fix the issue.

Regards,
Sean

Blank line down left side of outgoing fax or feeder copy

The most common cause of blank (void) lines on a scanned document is from whiteout on the glass where the page is scanned when using the document feeder.
If there is a clear mylar sheet on the bottom of the document feeder, the whiteout may be there instead.

If there was dirt or a dark smudge on the glass (or mylar), it would show up as a black line, but whiteout is white, and shows up as a void (blank) line.

A black vertical line is on each copy.

Try the 6500 driver. I have seen that allow text print but no graphics. If line disappears, reinstall 7680 driver. If line comes back, contact HP about updated drivers, check their website OR try to get your money back. I have never had luck with this series of AIO.
Good luck.

Dell All in One Printer 962-dark vertical line on photo copies

If you are running your copies through the document feeder then see if the line goes away if you make a copy directly from the glass. If the line goes away then open up the doc feeder assy. by hinging it to the left. Underneath you will find that there is a thin strip of glass that the document passes over when it is scanned. Clean this strip of glass and this should correct your problem. If there is a smudge of dirt or small line, it will come out as a solid verticle line when scanned.
