Most printer cartridge have an expiration date on them. Check to see if there is a date printed on your cartridge anywhere. If cant find one take to place like Staples and have them check the cartridge.

Was the toner remanufactured/ compatible?
Sounds to me like the doctor blade in the cartridge is 'gummed' up and not allowing the toner to flow evenly across the Developer roller......try another cartridge

dis is quite common problem..don't panic..
did u change / replace the cartridge with original spare or refilled it??
this kind of problem often follows with an unbranded cartridge change and or refilling..!!
least chance of the defective cartridge itself causing such problem..!!
however always try to use genuine refill packs/toner..
..contact ur system admin/vendor....
