Re: CONNECTIING COMPAQ LAPTOP TO MY NEW 42"LG LCD TV
If the cable from the laptop is connected to the TV, you've selected the VGA input and see no signal, you probably haven't enabled the laptop's VGA output connector. Somewhere on the keyboard will be a function key with a little monitor screen on it. Hold down the F or Fn key and press the monitor key and it will switch on the external monitor connector. On some monitors, the first press shuts off the laptop screen when it turns on the external connector. If yours does that, press the key a second time to turn the laptop screen back on.

what do you mean by concert, Do you mean connect? If you do then you will need a 15 pin to 15 pin vga lead. Connect it to the 15 pin socket on the laptop, connect the other end to the tv's 15 pin socket if it has one. Then select PC on the tv's input source menu using the tv remote. Switch on the laptop and it should display on the tv.
If your laptop has the 15 pin vga socket on the side or the back and your tv has a 15 pin socket on the back then you just need a 15 male to male vga lead to connect the two together. Then select PC on you tv menu using the tv remote as the input source and switch the laptop on. Ebay has the lead you need.
I am not familiar with your tv but the normal process is to change press the button combinations on your laptop so it is outputing the picture and then change the tv input to RGB. (Most laptops use function and F7 to activate LCD output & Input button on TV remote to change to RGB mode.)
Check the VGA cable is fully connected at both ends.
u cant get sound from TV linked to PC.....as the PC's sound system use a RF connection...it does not have a amplifyer...the sound system travel in two formats....non-amplified and amplified....the sound sent from PC/Laptop it's already amplified...but the TV connector can receive only non-amplified signal(say from a DVD player, camcorder, music system etc)...it cant process the signal from PC/laptop......you can connect ordinary speakers ment for laptop to the sound out jack in the PC/laptop and use the TV to receive the video signal....from PC
hope this helps
Your laptop is not set to enable the external video output.
Most likely, your laptop has a key that says "RGB/LCD" or something similar on it. This key cycles through the various video output options, enabling the laptop's LCD, the external RGB output, or both simultaneously. Most laptops require you to hold down the function key ("FN") when pressing the "RGB/LCD" key to cycle through the options.
