Hello. If the unit is rated 460v, 3phase, the only way you can get it to meet your supply of 208v, 3phase, is:
a) have a transformer installed to make 460 from your supply by an electrician, or call your power company and see if 460 could be supplied to your building, but it would only be for that machine.
or
b) replace the heating elements for the 208v supply, have the pump motor checked to see if it will work on 208v, and a control transformer for the control circuit, as well as all the wiring related to the pump and heaters, as on 208v, they will draw more current than on 460.
so, can it be done? yes. Is the expense worth it? only you can answer that, However I would suggest that you resell that machine, and get the correct one from the start.

Hope that helps, and thank you.

Keep in mind, that even though you are able to make changes to the machine to make it work with voltage ather than what it is designed to work with, any of those changes to the machine will make it inconsistent with the UL and NSF designation on the plates installed on the machine by the manufacturer. This means that the machine will be in non-compliance with UL and NSF regulations, putting you at risk for electrical problems/fires caused by the machine, health code non compliance, and regulatory fines.

There are only 2 solutions here.
    A) Have an electrician install a 460 3 phase circuit for the machine that you have, or
    B) Get a machine that is designed to work with your building's current voltage.

Any choice other than those is not adviseable.
I'm 3 years late, but it may save anyone looking at this from a lot of headache/fines from making a bad choice.

I have 3phase in my shop. I have a new machine that is rated for 208v 3ph. how can I tell what my incoming voltage is?

You will need to take the cover off of the breaker panel. Find the three lugs that the incoming hot wires are hooked to. With three phase you will have three hot lines. Check the voltage between the phases. L1 - L2- L2- L3- and L1 - L3 Also check the voltage from each line to ground. If you havw 120/208 three phase current you will have 208 +or- a few voltage between the phases and 120 or so from each line to ground. If you have 120/240 three phase you will have 240v across the phases and 120 to ground on two legs and 208 to ground on one leg, this is called a "wild" or high leg. You may also have 480v into the shop and you will know that very quickily if you get 480v between phases. No matter if you have another voltage, you can buy a trandformer that can convert whatever you have to 208/120 3 phase for your unit.

Look for the BTU rating. 12,000 BTU is a one ton unit.

Need to convert 3 phase Hobart dishwasher to single phase

It will not be inexpensive to convert your dishmachine over to three phase. With everything that you will need to replace, depending on the model if converyor or not it may run close to what it costs to have 3phase run to the building that you plan to move into.

This dishwasher is older than most living people in this business. It works great except it is a 208 three phase unit. It is in St.Peter's church in New York Mills, MN. We bought it used during our remodel...

Your AM9 is too old to get new parts from Hobart.
Why does the inverter need to run when the machine is not in use? There must be a breaker to turn it off.
If you decide to replace it, any AM series will fit your tables. Don't buy anything older than AM14.

ef24c2b.jpgWell, why didn't you say so... Please see attached pic. This is the latest version. The HH design differs only slightly from this. (from this pic, you can't see the difference) Let me know if you require further pics. The machine sits next to me most days...
