The dryer is about 8 years old. The dryer does not turn on at all. There is no light in the dryer when you open the door. The power supply cord does not appear to have any damage. Is this a completely dead dryer or is there a simple power supply issue that can resolve it.

There isn't really major problem, but a problem.
You will need to unplugged your unit and take it apart. Are you handy?
If and when the unit is apart look at the motor and the fan exhaust and see if there is a coin or screw is jamming the motor or the fan
while you are in there you may want to clean it up,
That should be the problrm
There are 2 house fuses in the dryer circuit. If 1 of the 2 fuses is blown, the drum may turn but the heater will not operate. Gas supply valve is not open (gas models). Dryer does not have anough air supply to support the burner flame (gas models). LP gas supply tank is empty or there has been a utility interruption of natural gas (gas models).Replace fuse. Check to make sure supply valve is open. See INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS for procedure. See INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS. Refill or replace tank. Dryer should heat when utility service is restored
