Thanks for the hints. I think also that i need to install windows again...

But i think that i have not explain the problem that well. The points is really that when I start the notebook it wil start and than it give a sign with a software problem, but during the 'system check' windows can't repare the errors. Than it wil start normal, just that you think it works, but then it start again. This progress is repating it's self all the time.

Some guy in the store told me that i need to press on F11 during start-up and then to hoose to reinstall windows or something..

Maybe it's indeed better to take the computer to professional yes.

    Sorry for my bad english!

    THNX!

Make sure its not over-heating, that would be the most probable reason.
you can use the hw monitor with link below to check that and then post back the results.

it looks like that you will have to re-install windows and you can do that if you have the cds from Acer for OS re-install.

but only attempt this if you know how to /or are ready to take chances ;-)

its pretty easy if you know how to when you start the installation after it runs through the initial booting and loading of files it'll ask you to accept the license and then will detect that there is windows already installed and will give an option to repair the same.

    best of luck

Hey,

if you never get to the windows screen, then the computer is unable to start up and automatically restarts.

to fix this issue you need a windows installation cd or a the recovery media that came with the computer when purchased.

if you don't have either I suggest you take the computer to a professional who owns the cds and he or she can fix it for you.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks,
Ekse

I have a Acer Aspire 5050-3371 Notebook. Before, I had a problem with it's battery and plug, so I disassembled it and found my DC input battery plug broken. I replaced the DC converter, and assembled...

Sometimes when the charger connector breaks, it shorts out the charging module on the motherboard, blowing it. It can also blow the external power supply.

If you can find someone else with a similar power supply, try using it. If that doesn't work, you've got bigger issues.

The cooling fan in my Acer Aspire laptop (bought 1 year ago) stopped working. Can it be replaced or is it part of the motherboard?

As stated it can be replaced. Might be the pits in finding the replacement fan, though.

Let's take a look at an Acer Aspire 5520 series laptop, as an example,

http://www.insidemylaptop.com/take-apart-acer-aspire-5520-laptop/

Scroll down until you come to the third photo.

Getting to the Cooling Fan in the Acer Aspire 5050 series Notebook PC's, requires a lot more disassembly, however.

The Acer Aspire 5050-3242 Notebook PC, in the category heading, is part of the Acer Aspire 5050 series of Notebook PC's.

This is the Service Manual for the Acer Aspire 5050 series of Notebook PC's,

http://www.tim.id.au/blog/tims-laptop-service-manuals/#toc-acer

Go to the second Aspire heading.
The one that begins with Aspire 1200.

Now go down to the 5th line, and scroll across to > 5050.
Left-click on 5050.

This is a PDF file.
The computer you are using now has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files.

[ Although I would recommend upgrading to Adobe Reader 9, if it isn't on your computer ]

After you click on the file > 5050, you won't see anything happening for up to 30 seconds.

Most of the time the first page pops up within 10 seconds, and it requires additional time to fully download the file.

Suggest you let the file download all the way, before looking through it.
Watch the Download Progress bar.

You can save this file to your computer.
This way you can burn a copy to CD for safekeeping, and easy access anytime you wish.

You can also delete from your computer then, to save Harddrive space.
If you do not know how, and wish to, simply post in a Comment.

My acer aspire 5050 dosent start up after you shut it down and boot it up? Help me!!!

Unplug the power supply, remove the battery then press the power button 10x or more holding each press for about 10secs. Insert the battery, plug the power supply and turn it on. If it doesn't, repeat the steps. This should remove the static electricity stuck in the mainboard.

If it turns-on, set your laptop to hybernate when you close the lid so you don't need to shutdown it anymore. If it runs out of power while in hybernation, it should start again.

Wont start up, wont load windows

Start laptop and click ALT+F10 - you will enter recovery partition (Note: if there is important data, then don't use destructive recovery).
If recovery fails then you will need to replace hard drive.

Acer Aspire 5050 won't boot at all

Yes, it's not the hard drive.

More than likely it's your motherboard.

There's not much you can do besides trying to boot the computer without the battery, and removing and reinstalling the memory.

Hopefully you'll get lucky!

I'm assuming you have run the Operating System ie Full XP disc. Really depends what you mean by 'won't start up properly'. Sounds like it could be your operating system has not installed correctly. You need to try formatting and reinstalling it - sometimes when the operating system is installed it drops a file or two.

Problem with Acer Laptop

removing the battery is useless if the AC adapter is still plugged in, unplug the power adapter then try fircing a shutdown by removing the battery. leave it a few minutes and try starting it again
