Question about KitchenAid KERC507 Electric Kitchen Range

Open Question

KitchenAid kerc507hbs3 won't self clean

I have a kiechenAide kerc507hbs3 range and the self cleaning function does not work. It gives me an error code after heating up for about 10 minutes. Now when we try to cook at 450 degrees or above the over door locks and you have to wait for things to cool down to get the door open. I have had a repair man fix it one time and it worked for one self cleaning. The next time we tried to self clean (about a year later) it started giving the error again. I don't know what he replaced last time because he replace alot of things trying to get it to work. I don't think he really knew what to do either.

SOURCE: Clean cycle in oven doesn't work: FO EO

Oliversmom, Im not coming up with any information on the model number posted. However on the kitchenaid the F0 E0 is default for no error. Press the cancel button to put the range in idle state. Then in this order press cancel-cancel-start. See if an error code comes up different from the F0 E0. The F0 is what is throwing this whole deal off. If it was F1, F2, F3 etc...it would make more sense. See if you have a complete model number you can post along with the error code after doing the above key dance. We'll see if we can solve the issue....Catriver..post back.

SOURCE: KitchenAid oven shut down during self-cleaning

I've had the same problem and have had the thermo-protector switch replaced four times. After the last time I was so ********** I wrote to the CEO at Whirpool/Kitchen Aid in Benton Harbor, MI with my complaint. Today I received a call from an extremely nice lady in his office who said that they were sending me an updated kit for repair free of charge. The part number is 9759243. She offered that this was a known problem but was limited to just one production run - my luck!

If you are having this problem with your KGSA906PSS write to the CEO at Whirlpool!

Duel fuel? Which one does the self-cleaning? I'd bet electric. If so, the gas mode must not be used, and it may be telling you that.

Oven lite won't go off and when turn on self cleaning it says door

The door switch has gone bad. This will keep the oven light on and the self clean won't work because it thinks the door is open.

You're right about not using the self clean option. Your oven gets up to over 800 degrees when you use that feature. You can choose to simply keep your oven wiped out, rather than self clean it. The timer is most likely going out if the "stop" button doesn't work after cleaning. Please call or email us and we will be sure toget the right part for you. I hope this solves your problem. Ella

By the way the door lock error will stay there until the oven cools. Once it has cooled it will go away. the reason is in a self clean the oven is supposed to get very hot to clean. The door lock is for your protection. once it has cooled down enough the door lock will go away.

Self clean inoperative

Dear Superglide, An error code "F5 E1" means "door latch not operating". In such situation I would recomend to replace the oven lock assy (part # 9782611 ) which is located on the back panel. If you are going to do it yourself - DO NOT forget to unplug the power cord first. About service manual - try to call Kitchen Aid directly.
