SOURCE: I have an RTA International

Gas Valves are not meant to be repaired only replaced. So I would have them replace the part and have them warranty there work. If the heater is very old and the replacement part is going to be half the cost of a new one You might want to put that Money on a new one and get a New manufactures warranty in the deal. Just another point of view....... Hope this helps

Not getting any propain to my patio heater

First check the gas, connect the regulator to the cylinder but unclip the hose and do not light the heater. Turn the gas on for a second to see if the regulator is working OK. Next make sure there are no blockages in the pipes up to the burner. If all clear then vent the pipes to clear all air. If still not getting any gas the problem could be a faulty tilt switch cutting the gas supply or a worn thermocouple. Short out the tilt switch to test and if not fixed then change the thermocouple. Can establish pilot flame but cannot get main flame on my jumbuck tall patio heater. everything switches off. is it the tilt switch? how do I fix this

The first thing to wear out is a thermocouple, these will cause the pilot to go out when you turn to full. To check if the tilt switch is working just short it out by joining the leads up. Found this site very useful in solutions to Patio Heater Problems.

I have a RTA patio heater and on the box says it will work with LP or Propane but in the manual doesnt go into how to hook it or what needs to be done to LP connection can this be hooked into a home supply...

You didn't specify which model you have (Table Top or Tall Patio Heater). In any event, it doesn't matter, as LP and Propane are one in the same. However, it can not be converted to Natural Gas. Rita makes a separate Natural Gas model for that type of hookup.

GAS is to getting to ignitor for my patio heater model # 385.001

I assume you meant gas is not getting to the ignitor, take apart the head, if you are comfortable with it, and check for a blockage in the pilot assembly. If this does not fix the problem, try replacing the regulator.
