Question about Canon PIXMA Pro 9500 InkJet Photo Printer

Canon Pixma 9500 suddenly starts producing light prints

This printer has produced many wonderful prints. just recently i replaced the ink tanks, and now everything I print is light. It looks a though there are inks that are not printing. No color saturation, no vibrancy. I replaced with Cannon inks, and prints that printed fine before the ink change now print too light. Is it [possible that the ink carts are bad or need more shaking thatn what the machine provides. I'm stumpped.

I'm not sure if this is possible with the 9500 (it won't be if the 9500 uses chipped cartridges)...

But have you installed the photo version of a Magenta or Cyan in the Non-phone cartridge... ie: PM instead of M, or PC instead of C.

It's a long shot as I don't know that particular models age, etc... but it's been done (by me included *blush*).

Cant get my canon mx330 printer to work

Multifunction devices usually require two separate inks to acquire functionalities. For example, an empty ink cartridge especially the color ink may still produce copies without multi ink features. However, any attempts to dismaunt the ink cartridges would require restorations from the computer settings. First, inspect the printer for empty accessories that require replacements. After acquiring and replacing ink cartridges makes way for the next processes. Second, connecting the printer that has been restablished would produce display results requesting printer copy allignments. Attempt to print a document to produce the results for alligments. Goodluck

Colour don't match the screen light blue on the screen will be light pink when printed

If you have used non canon ink tanks that will be the problem.'

If you have used genuine canon ink then you may have placed the tanks in the wrong place.

Also try using genuine canon paper as that could also be the problem.

Canon 9500 ink tank reading

I have encountered the same problem, and after doing some research I found it to be a faulty chip in the ink cartridge (tank) itself. The problem disappeared when I bought a new one. The cartridge in Canon printers are equipped with a chip to ensure that you don't use counterfeit or unbranded ones. I might also be responsible for reporting levels to the driver, but I suspect that it first & foremost is a tool for them to make you stick to their brand. One can figure why...

Ink cartridge running low will it default small cartridge

It won't default to the small one...I emailed Canon support; this is the response I got.

The reason for the two different black ink tanks is for the different types of printing your unit is capable of. They are not intended as backups to each other. The larger black tank is pigment based, and is primarily used for standard black text printing or output. The smaller black ink tank is dye based like the color inks, and is used for photo and graphics output. They are designed to complement each other, allowing the printer to produce the best possible black text output or photo quality as appropriate.

Printer print blue instead of black

I have the same problem with my ip 5200, when printing a document in plain black.. I spoke to canon support and they suggested to save the .doc document as a txt file before printing. It works. Not too sure if this uses any colour ink to produce the black.

You can also set the printer on grayscale. However, the printer uses the colour ink to produce black.... hence printing in black & white becomes rather expensive.

If anyone has drivers to fix this problem please let me know...
