I have a Sony XA21M80 and my color keeps changing from normal to having more yellow or brighter. It flashes back and forth in no regular pattern. It keeps changing as per the picture. If background in scene is bright then it appears bright. If background dull then suddenly it changes to yellowish. The subtitle colors keep changing from “bright white” to “yellowish white” as per scene.

Yes, except this has just started so it has not moved to cover the whole screen.

I have the same problem. I had to take the whole thing apart and found that the red filter has a burn pattern in it. I am still trying to find a red filter for it.

Hi , it seems you are experimenting a light engine problem. Here's how your tv works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLLHnQ4y-wo Basically there's 3 LCD chips that create the colors and image by blending together. When these chips start to melt you will get those blue spots, pixilation even vertical lines. You will need to replace the light engine. Found it here:http://www.discount-merchant.com/SONY-1-758-484-22-p/1180916.htm Have a blessed one!

I'm having the same problem with the same TV. I called around to repair shops and I guess it's fixable. Haven't taken it in yet but I was told it most likely is a bad module. But this seems to be a really common problem with this television

I have a black patch on my tv lcd tv screen

If it is just in one small area it is the LCD panel. If it is a whole left or right side it is a blacklight invertor.

The light engine in your set has gone belly up. It is a very expensive repair. Good news is that on a whole bunch of models like yours Sony has extended the waranty on the light engine. Check with a local authorized Sony service center and give them the model & serial number and you might get a free ride. If I were a betting man I'd take odds on 'you're in luck'. LOL

Try doing a system reset. Not sure it that's the term they use but that option basically resets the tv to factory default settings. It's in the menu somewhere. I've done the reset twice already for a similar problem. Solved it each time.

I had the same problem w/ the same TV about 6 months ago. You need a new optical engine. Hopefully you are still under warranty. Once that was replaced, the tv looks great.
