Question about Leapster Learning System
Even though the volume is turned all the way up there is no sound. I put new batteries and tried it with a fully charged battery back but no luck! Is there a mute button? Help!

If the battery compartment lid is not sliding out after you have loosened the screw, press the coin in the gap created from what short distance it did slide, and use the coin to force the battery compartment forward. Mine was really stuck, and this did the trick after some serious effort.

SOURCE: Leapster pen not working
1) Ensure that a cartridge is not inserted 2) Hold down the Hint (?) button while turning the unit on. Continue to hold the Hint button down until the LEAPSTER menu appears. 3) When the LEAPSTER menu screen appears, press the A button 4) Touch each of the crosshairs that appear with the stylus 5) Restart unit

its not recognizing the game, contact is probably dirty. take an eraser and rub the contacts of the cartridge and get them super clean, blow out ALL the debris and that should fix it.
