Question about Cozy (W352E) Heater
I have a cozy double sided wall heater model #LV W505E and sometimes when the heater is on and tries to ignite it doesn't right away and the gas builds up. Then it will catch and create a gas explosion which comes out of my heater and I see it in the house. Bright flame burst, loud bang and smell of burning dust afterwards. I have had the heater for 3.5 years and it has done it about 6 times since it has been installed. It happened once in the middle of the night and scared me to death. So now we don't have the heater on at night because I don't trust it. We had the gas company come out and look at it and they said nothing was wrong with it, but it still happens. I am afraid to turn my heater on or even stand near it for fear that will happen again. And every time the thermostat kicks on I sit and listen to make sure it ignites right away. It is very high maintenance and un-trustworthy. I am not sure why it is happening or what I can do about it.

It could be one of two things. Either you have a weak gas valve or dirty burners. Either way you will need to get a technician out to check it in order to know for sure. Or if you have access to high air pressure you can try to clean your burners and see if that eleviates the problem. But you saod it has done it since new. I am leaning towards a weak/ or stuck diaphram in the gas valve.
