Please. If you can't figure this out, hire a pro to install new unit. Sounds like you lack the skills needed and gas can go kaboooooom.

Thermocouple sending pilot flame to allow gas to pass through gas valve?? Is it dirty try cleaning it

Hotpoint gas stove. burners work, oven and broiler do not.

Probably the safety valve. This unit broils and bakes off the same gas burner. A spark ignitor lights the pilot and this save gas because no standing pilot is needed. It takes a few minutes for the thermocouple bimetal combo to release the gas. When the temp gets to the desired rate then the bulb on the oven control closes off the flow of gas. To recap: The flow of gas comes from a regulator along a rail which supplys the gas to the top burners and the oven control. older models had pilot light tubing going down to the oven and to the top burners. This newer style uses a spark module to light off the top burners and the oven. So when yall turn the the oven on the spark ignitor lights the pilot first and then after the mercury bulf thermocouple heats up the bimetal inside the valve opens allowing gas to flow out to the pilot and ignite the gas burner. the temp rises and the mercury bulb oven control expands closing off the flow but not the gas safety valve. I would suspect the safety valve on this one.

Oven wont light

This can be caused by a weak/inop hot surface igniter or a defective gas control valve.

One thing that you can try(be very careful doing this) is to give the gas control valve a light tap with something hard like a wrench when the oven is turned on and the igniter is glowing but the burner is not on. You will need to remove the broiler/storage drawer at the bottom of the oven. Once you pull the drawer out you should see the gas control valve at the back of the range. Try turning on the oven and lightly tapping the valve housing after the igniter is fully on. This may loosen up any debris inside the control valve housing that might be causing the problem. If the oven burner comes on then try completely turning the oven on and back of several times. And when I say completely I mean turn it on after the igniter is not glowing and burner has shut off. This works about 30% of the time. If the burner control valve sticks again after trying this procedure(burner does not come on) then it could be the control valve and/or the hot surface igniter defective. The hot surface igniter would need to be disconnected from it's harness and tested with an OHM meter. Most igniters should have a 500 to 700 OHM reading. If you get a reading that is way off then the igniter is defective and replace it. If the igniter tests good then the gas control valve is suspect and replace it. Most appliance parts retailers will test your igniter for free. When the igniter is on it should glow very brightly. If it is dim then that is a sure sign it is bad. You can also verify that the oven run-away valve is not closed. This valve will be located at the back bottom of the range at the gas regulator. There will be a tab on the regulator housing where the gas pipe goes to the oven. This tab will lift up to close gas flow to the oven. Sometimes these valves can stick causing the oven to stop working. You can try moving this tab back and forth to see if it loosens any debris in the valve. Move the valve while the oven is on and you will be able to hear the burner come on after moving the valve if that was the problem.

Remember be very careful doing any of these procedures. Good luck and have a safe holiday.

Oven won't ignite

Your range is a Direct spark model.ce00970.jpg8278a1e.pngIf you want a Direct spark manual, let me know. The module gets confirmation from relay on the oven control and sends dc power to the gas valve. I suspect that gas valve be cause the top burners work which is usually and indicator that the module is fine. The terminals ohms should be 216 ohms between each of the 3. If any are open the valve won't work.

Oven will not come on

This can be caused by a weak/inop hot surface igniter or a defective gas control valve. First you will need to verify that the hot surface igniter is coming on(you should see it glow in the burner compartment). If it is not glowing then you will need to verify that the wiring harness has voltage to it when the oven thermostat is on. Also check the igniter for any cracks or damage and if found then replace the igniter. If it is glowing then one thing that you can try(be very careful doing this) is to give the gas control valve a light tap with something hard like a wrench when the oven is turned on and the igniter is glowing but the burner is not on. You will need to remove the broiler/storage drawer at the bottom of the oven. Once you pull the drawer out you should see the gas control valve at the back of the range. Oven gas doesn't come ouy. Boiler works, ignitor

Ever though the ignitor glows it may still be bad. The gas valve circuit consists of the main oven control, the igniter and the valve coil. As a properly functioning ignitor heats up, it allows more current to flow through the circuit. It finally reaches the point where it opens the gas valve. A failing ignitor will not reach that point. The fact that it glows at all tells you the control contacts are closing and the gas valve coil is nt bad. ****If you try this repair, make sure to remove power from the unit. Be careful handling the ignitor as it is extremely fragile.

Dynasty oven fails to get enough gas to light.

I think you are talking about the oven safety valve or thermal valve. before you change you oven safety valve, I would check the Amperage on the oven ignitor first, install AMP meter on one of the ignitor wire, it should draw above 3AMPs, if not then you have problem with the oven ignitor and not the safety valve. we hardly change the safety valve, I'll try to change the ignitor first. Have fun.

Covert a frigidaire stove to nat. gas

Lift the top of the stove up. Then there should be 4 nuts on the backs of the burner controls. Turn them left to open the valves for nat. gas. You want just a small amount of yellow on the flame. Then take the droor out of the oven and there should be another nut close to the gas valve for your oven flow. Do the same to the oven.

Gas Odor and Oven Heating

The gas valve may be failing. The 'whooshing sound' you hear may be the gas valve closing too slowly when the oven cycles off or the cavity is filling with gas and igniting when the oven cycles on. The gas you smell may be an indication that the valve is not closing completely. This can be potentially dangerous if the oven fills with gas then ignites. I would not operate the stove any longer and shut off the gas to the stove.

If you oven temp is off by +- 50 degrees, thermostat needed to be change. to check and adjust the oven thermostat usually we place the oven thermometer in the center of the oven, run the oven at 350 degrees for minimum 30 minutes and check the oven temperature, It should be +- 25 degrees, if it needed adjusting, there is the adjusting slot screw in the center of the thermostat stem, to adjusting it ( do not turn thermostat stem during adjusting ), turn adjusting screw counter clockwise to raise the the temp, clockwise to lower the temp, turn it a little at a time and wait 15-30 minutes before do the next adjustment until the temp match with the oven knob. To adjust the oven burner air and gas mixture, first turn the air shutter close, you will see yellow flame, then open the shutter until the yellow flame disappear and them open it a little more, now you are done. For the oven uneven cooking? you may have a bad oven burner tube, during operation some of the flame may be lift off, disappear or flame being uneven, you can check it with the kick panels off to see the flame, if these are the case, you needed to change the oven burner tube,
