I got an LG VCR GC980NW (MG 64) VHS VCR. I've wrongly pressed both the eject and play forward button at the same time. After that, the VCR shows both the 'EJECT' message and 'No Tape' signal, and then...

It is possible that the mechanism is out of mode as the front cassette loading mechanism and the tape forward loading mechanism have gone out of sync. Now it is important that the MODE of the system control is in the correct parking.
Hence I feel that the VCR must be opened and the mechanism reset-ted. Make sure that the tape loading has come back to the correct parking and also the cassette loading has returned, other wise remove the mechanism and reset.

I am trying to hook up my sons Playstation to it through the Video Input on the back but can't figure out how to switch it from TV mode to Video input.

1.) What TV Make Model?

2.) Is there a VCR/TV button on the remote?

3.) If there is an input on the remote, some model TV's expect a number pressed after the input button is pressed.

4.) What is the video cable are you using on the PS3:
HDMI (flat rectangular on both ends)
original cable(Yellow/White/Red)
Component cables (Red/Green/Blue)

I found if you disconnect the power and keep it off for thirty seconds or so to let it reboot, the "SAFE" problem disappears.

SAFE

Hold down the power button (or the vcr button if on a combination remote) for six seconds. This will unlock the child lock feature of the vcr.
