I've added lots of songs to my OPAL before, but all of a sudden, when i plug my MP3 into my computer and i open up Windows Media Player...it says theres nothing plugged in! Also, when I charge the MP3, sometimes the screen says it will be charging then it just goes black.....
Hi my wife has a opel 8gb and it wouldn't reconize it. I thought it was the cord like the other guy said but it wasn't. My wife is brutal on everything it turned out to be the electrical connection on the female plug on the opel I had to pop off the back cover and wiggled the plug and I saw the crack in the connection. so I re-sauderd it took me 15 seconds to fix and two days to figure out. I hope this helps

i had the same problem. and the answer made me so mad. turns out, you have to have yahoo unlimited TO GO in order to transfer the songs. i found this out after not only suscribing to y! unlimited but also downloading 400 songs! ugh. i still haven't found any service that works with it, and i've been searching all day.
when you plug it into your computer either windows media player of yahoo music jukebox click to transfer information from the mp3 to the computer and look under opal then songs and all your songs will be listed and just right click and press remove.
The same thing happened to me.(I have a different model but I'm sure you can solve it the same) Go to the website and download the frimware thing and it will completly clean your MP3 of data you added. At least it did for me.
I erase them by plugging the player into my computer, then click on "My Computer".
One of the drives should be the Opal.
Double click to open this "drive" and then click and cut the songs you don't want.
Hope that helps!
