Forerunner 305 battery

Is the Forerunner 305 a common battery that is easy to find?Hi

I have the same problem battery had it and don,t want to garmin for a simple job.

Does anyone know of a replacement

A possible replacement battery is available here and as shown below. The original battery has P/N 361-00026-00. The replacement would require a bit of modification on the power leads/wires.



Procedures would be similar to a 205 as illustrated here.

There are TONS of Li-ion cell and mobile phone batteries as well as those sold to the RC hobbiest. Your best bet its to reach the nearest radio store and try to find a 3.7V Li-ion, 750 mAH battery with these exact dimensions (or smaller) and you will be fine. >305 battery dimensions:? H 33.5mm x W 35.0mm x D 5.5mm
Any battery with these specs should fit perfectly into your device.

the battery is internal rechargeable lithium-ion. this is not recommended to be replaced at home but it can be done.

You will need to take the garmin apart, identify the battery, order a replacement and install it on the place of the old lithium ion battery.

this will void your warranty, best solution is to contact garmin and get it done with warranty. do at your own risk.

standard CR2032 ,this u can find any radioshack shop..

    • CR2032 is Not Correct. Totally different form factor.

The battery can be replaced, you can buy it at your Garmin dealer or on the Garmin Website

    • ...also not true. The Garmin web site Li-Ion batteries are not for the 305, and look to me to be the wrong dimensions. They are listed as for the Nuviphone or some such.

    • for battery replacement better to contact Garmin dealer.

      it could cost $85.00 to replace the battery and do maintenance checks on it.
