Do the following:
If the printer access door is open, close it.
Wait until "New printhead detected. Calibration required. Add paper and press START." appears on the LCD display.
Open the lower paper tray.
Lift the output tray.
Fan the paper to keep the sheets from sticking together.
IMPORTANT: Do not overload the paper tray.
Load a maximum of 100 sheets of plain paper into the paper tray.
Align the paper with the lines on the paper tray, then adjust the paper width guide until it lightly touches the paper.
Lower the output tray.
Close the paper tray.
Press Start.
Wait for a successful calibration sheet to print. Close Window
NOTE: If necessary, use the arrow keys to view this information.
Signs of a successful calibration sheet:

The black boxes at the far left and far right have straight edges.
Five vertical bars appear next to the black boxes. The colors of the vertical bars, from left to right, are light gray, dark gray, cyan, yellow, and magenta.
OK✔ appears at the bottom of the calibration sheet.

Does "START to copy. OK for options." appear on the LCD display?
If No: Call Tech support @ 1-800-421-6699

If Yes & the calibration still won't work, you need to remove the printer driver & software completely from your computer, keep your printer turned off, re-install the software and only plug your printer into the computer & turn it on when the software tells you to. If it is plugged in or turned on too early, sometimes windows will install a default driver that may prevent the printer from running right. The instructions for uninstalling succesfully are:

IMPORTANT: If you connected your printer before you installed the KODAK All-in-One Printer Software, the Windows operating system on your computer, may have installed a default printer driver file that is preventing the printer software installation from completing. It is necessary to do the following to ensure the proper installation of the printer software.
Remove the KODAK All-in-One Printer Software from your computer system:
From your computer, select: Start>Control Panel>Add Remove Programs
Scroll down and search for the KODAK All-in-One Printer Software.
If present, select the KODAK All-in-One Printer Software and click Remove.
From the All-in-One Printer website go to Clear Utility for KODAK EASYSHARE Software:
Select your operating system.
Read all of the steps.
Click Download.
When the Security Warning displays, click Run.
When the License Agreement displays, click I agree.
Click on the Start icon and follow the on-screen instructions
If this doesn't work, there may be something physicaly wrong with your printer that will need warranty support.

It seems you have faulty printer head. If the green on/off light keeps blinking when it shouldn`t be in steps , that is a sure sigh of faulty printer head, it means the printer is not recognizing the head. contact kodak to get new print head .

Bad printheads, 5300 & ESP7

Have your tired to update the firmware of the printer at kodak.com/go/downloads? make sure if you update the printer it must connected to your computer and it must turn On.,

If you will clean the printhead make sure its always deep clean and also you need to calibrate it also. I know you already familiar how to do it since you already contacted the Customer support.

You can always call Customer support., And if you experienced same problem using a printhead just less than a month and you updated the firmware it means the printer itself is the defective.

Hope this will help

Go on kodak web site and down load updated drivers for this thing.  Close non-essential running applications in the background if you got an old slow processor chip in your computer.
