Question about KitchenAid 24 in. KUDI02IRBS Stainless Steel Built-in Dishwasher
When I try to switch it on it makes a noise but does not appear to be working?
Check your pump and make sure that it is not only pumping water in but is also pumping out. These motor have two directions and sometimes will only work in one direction and not the other and this is a major problem. You will need to replace the pump. You can order parts at repairclinic.com

The dishwasher drain hose may be clogged. When the dishwashr starts up can you hear the water running into the Sink faucet drain. If not inspect the hose that attaches to the Sink Drain for restrictions. Also in the bottom of the dishwasher you should have a filter. If this filter is clogged you cannot expel water. Clean the filter.
