Re: machine will start and then stop
It sounds like the motor control board is shot. Inspect the MCB for burnt components or a blown 10 amp fuse. This board is located down by the floor on the right side. See www.neptunehelp.com for disassembly pictures.
If you have a blown 10 amp fuse or there are burnt components then the MCB will need to be replaced along with the motor as Maytag has redesigned them to be more reliable. The new part number is 12002039, which is a motor conversion kit. It takes about an hour to install.

Start machine as normal. After a few seconds of filling, press the pause button. Water coming in should stop immediately. If it hesitates then stops or does not stop at all you have a faulty inlet valve. Change it.
I have a problem with my MW512AU. Sometimes it drains after wash cycle, but sometimes it sticks when it goes to spin, doesn't get up to speed, water comes on for about 10 seconds and shuts off, and it tries to spin again. If I hit the wash progress switch it goes directly to final spin and works ok. I then have to run a 2nd wash cycle to rinse the clothes. I also noticed a buzzing sound when I turn on the power point, which lasts about 3 seconds before stopping. It will come back on every 3-4 minutes for 30 seconds. This is with the machine power switch off. It powers on normally.
sounds like you should replace timer (big control) timer motor is part of timer. Is timer knob speeding thru cycle that fast or just start/stop. 110 is manufacturer code for whirlpool, number after decimal is model number. tech sheet avail inside console by unsnapping left and right console covers and removing hidden screw at front bottom corners, pull forward slightly then fold console back (hinged at rear top).
f22 is a door lock error try this hit cancel turn your dial to another setting, hit start and once it starts hit cancel again and it should unlock. thats what i did anyway. If you're getting an F22 error, you will want to check anything to do with the door latch switch.
Washers - Resetting Electronic Controls on a Washer
If there is a pause in the washer cycle, the controls will lock up. The pause can occur because of a power failure or it was put in the test mode at the factory.
Also, if the washer was stopped before the cycle was complete or the consumer has pushed the stop/pause button to temporarily stop the cycle and the cycle is not reset. Over a period of 24 hours, the washer will pump out and spin, but will stay in the final spin.
To correct the situation, shut off the circuit breaker for 30 seconds or unplug the washer, then turn the timer knob around and back to any position other than final spin. Verify the water is turned on and restore power. This should resolve the issue.
the humming noise could be from two sources and it is worth while doing a few simple checks
first the drain pump is jammed with a foreign object. check nothing caught in the impellor
water not available - check taps turned on. also turn water off, undo fill hoses, put in a bucket and turn water back on
try on drain or spin programs to check water drainage as well
