Question about Bang and Olufsen Beocenter 9300 Shelf System

Beomaster 5000 no sound out of left side

I have a Beomaster 5000 receiver. when everything is hooked up and you turn it on you get sound from the 2 right side speakers but the left side is quiet. No matter what you are running on, radio, phono, cd player you only get sound from the right side and not the left. Is there something I'm missing or is the unit broken? If it's broken, what is the problem and what is the solution?

There is probably an internal fault but check that the pre out main in links are both there and the sockets to them are properly soldered.

O.k. The Beomaster 5000 needs new Quiescent current presets , you can temporarily solve the problem by turning the two presets (in the main amplifiers) fully anti - clockwise .
Your beocord needs new belts for sure .. availiable from CPC of Preston .. Hope this helps ..

I have a beomaster 2200 and the sound will only come from one speaker, I have checked the speakers and these are ok. When I move the balance control I get a loud crackle noise. Many Thanks John Bailey

if the loud crackle noise is in the speaker that doesnt work you may have a problem with the balance control itself or int. contacts in the switchbank.clean and lube both for starters.

What type of speakers and turntable work best or will work with a Bang & olufsen 2400 reciever and 6000 reciever. thanks

I believe this Beomaster series needs amplified speakers that goes with it. You might use the RCA out and make it amplified with another receiver or amplifier and use ''usual'' passive speaker.

Hi...
Try one other thing..headphones. If there's only 1 channel in the headphones then you'll need to take it to a tech.
Depends on where in the country you are as to a good tech.
I know some...even me in the Northeast

Troubleshoot auxiliary equipment

There is no Phono input on your JVC.

What TT are you trying to hook up? If it's a traditional one you would need a preamplifier to boost the tiny signal from the cartridge to a suitable level for the AUX to use.

If you have an old traditional receiver with a Phono section hanging around you could rig something up between it and your JVC.

Plug the TT into Phono on the old receiver. Run RCA cables from any Tape REC output to the AUX. Done.
