goto control panel/security system/system/device manager/ on the top scan device wait in seconds...
if you see ehternet device with yellow icon (like this ?) click it install automatic update online...
windows 7 automatically install all the drivers in case it had missed the driver kindly download the driver from friend system or internet cafe on your usb drive. there is link to download drivers for Ethernet. http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp
once your your online go to computer management > drivers and right click on WIFI card and click on update drivers it will download the drivers and install the drivers.
That means that your physical ehternet conection is disconnected (not the sofware from Acer which just tells you and helps you get reconnected)
You need to check the following:
Go to Control pannel and open system and device manager.
LOOK CLOSELY for the ethernet card in the list: If you see a YELLOW QUESTION MARK on the ethernet card listed, then you need to do a virus scan and utility scan before reinstalling the driver for your notebook.
If you see no question mark, but it says "legacy ehternet", you would still have to reinstall the ethernet drivers that you get from acer website.
After you have done all that and nothing works, then you may need to either get a new motherboard for the unit or work around it by buying a pcmcia ethernet card for you laptop.
check if the sound card is properly installed.
- go to start, point to computer, click manage, then click device manager. if there's a yellow sign on your audio, you need to install your audio driver
You computer problem is due to malware. to fix the problem temporarily. Right click on my computer then click on manage. choose Disk Management, on the bottom, you will see removable devices that doesnt have a drive letter. Right click its name then pick "Change Drive Letters and Paths". Change it back to the letter it was before this happen.
Check for malware, adware with spybot search and destroy and virus with your antivvirus afterward to make sure this doesn't happen again
Its all the work of some Virus, trojan..Most of the problems here is due to these malware programs.. :( ..anyway..However we secure the system with antivirus and antispy software, there isnt any 100% safety frm these black cats..f you had 122 errors from scanning..and if some of them which has been affectted must be a windows critical file , which doesnt allow the OS to boot in..Format your entire drive and reinstall the OS..use some Registry firewall..coz..whatever virus attacks..affects the Winsows registry first..and this software notifies the changes happening to the registry and asks the permission of user..like "Spybot - search and destroy".
