Mitone MP4 Player 4GB MITMP22 - software disck empty
I bought a Mitone MP4 Player 4GB MITMP22 and the mini CD which is supposed to contain the software (I assume) is blank. Any ideas on where I could obtain the software. Also I am on windows XP - is the software compatible?

are they store bought CDs ? or are they copies? cause some players unless stated will not play MP3 or MP4 cds, or CDRs , CDRW Etc.... check if the Cds are burned copies, and then also check the music layout if copied, using the computer, see if they are mp3 files that should play if they are mp4 then the cd will act blank....hope this helps...
1. Install the software that was coming with it, if you don't have it anymore get it from the manufacturer website.
2. if that doen't work try it on another computer
If number 2 . worked its a problem with your PC or windows installation, you can try to reinstall windows if you see your USB are not working at all , if not your MP3 player is likely to be defective if you tried it on a fresh updates install of windows.
The NAXA NX-142 came with a miniature CD you must use the CD to install the software called AMV converter to your computer. Then run the AMV converter with the NX-142 plugged into the USB port. You can then convert certain videos like WMV files into AMV files which can be automatically uploaded to the NX-142 be sure to choose to upload the videos into the MOVIED subdirectory to help keep things organized on the NX-142 The AMV converter will allow certain settings to be selected. The manual is helpful but the printing is so small that I can't read it even with glasses. Good Luck
sometime the microprosser locks up and sometimes by hitting the reset switch you can free it up- typically the reset is on the rear of the mp4 in a tiny hole-try using a small paperclip to press the switch inside the little hole
