First make sure mains lead is disconnected and no power is connected then remove all screws visable and please remember these tools are all pressed shut for extra safety so a little persuasion will be needed ,once your happy everything is ready to go ,gently put a blunt intstrument in between the two matching sides move along gently until the two sides start to part; as you move along you will notice them coming apart please take your time.when you put the blunt intstrument inbetween the two matching sides do not put it to deep as this could cause internal damage.also watch out for small locking clips inside the casing as these can break quite easily ,sometimes a small screwdriver is all that is needed to push these clips open.after a period you will find the casing starting to part quite openly to reveal the connection strip you need to get at.;;from experience i would start where the wire comes in to the casing; its the weakest part of the casing.i hope this will help you.adrian

    all external casing parts ie;non slip handles and other parts can be removed by inserting a small screwdriver gently under them and forcing them gently to pop off [if not screwed].

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

It would appear that the orange ring serves 2 purposes:

  • lock the handle together;
  • act as cover for the switch.
Other than the screws, the orange ring must also be removed:
  • If it is soft and pliant, then it would have to be forced out of the locking grooves by inserting a flat bladed screw drivers to snap it off position and thereafter slide out of the handle;
  • If it is hard and seem to break easily, then it has to be heated to soften it and therefore make it easier to stretch. A hairdryer on low setting should do the job.
In some instances, WD40 oil would also help make it jump out of the locking grooves.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

No , you cannot get handle apart. Either you buy a new one or if you want to use this one only than you can use something which can be fit in its handle.

Hi

The handle should be in two parts, held together by the screws along the handle.

Once you have extracted them , the handle opens up, bit like an easter egg, and you will see the trigger switch, to which your main feed cable is connected.
Simply undo the terminals, and fit new cable as was the original, noting color code, and reassemble handle, and secure the screws, and test the unit before use.

Good Luck !

Any problems, give me feed back !

A FixYa rating would be nice ! Thanks John.

Hi there,

do you have a user manual with you?

    Levers are
    typically located on the rear handle and keep the blades from moving while
    the engine is idling.
    * Stop buttons. Stop buttons are basically a kill switch. Most
    commercial-trimmer manufacturers don't offer this feature because of the
    additional cost it adds to the units.
