Pocket PC 2002 Backup Problem

By pawa - usenet poster

" "
I had to reset my Toshiba e330 back to factory settings
after a crash.

I restored my backup from a few days ago and it went
smooth.

However, now I have duplicates of some of my start menu
icons, such as File Explorer, Inbox, and Media Player.
When I try to remove them I get the error, "Unable to move
that item".

Any ideas???

This is very simple, after you do the hard reset, before doing the restore.

Click: Start>settings>menus in the Start Menu tab click out all the checkmarks for the menus that have been set as default.

Now make you restore and the only menus that appear are the once you originally had.

The default backup does this but Sprite Software Pocket Backup does not.
They have fixed this in their software so that you get the start/program
menus as they were before.

It does a lot more then that and is about 50% faster and smaller then the
default backup app.

| In my settings for the Menu, I had duplicates. One

Hi Kuma,

IMO, it might be just a duplicated shortcuts. You could found the shortcuts
under the folder: My Device\Windows\Start Menu\Programs. When you found
your duplicated shortcuts there, you could delete the duplicates.

Good luck.
