Just bought used portable ac. it blows great cold air then blows warm air for a while then back to cool andcold... is this normal? if not hwo to fix?

Yes it's normal in most cases. There should be a knob to turn so it cycles on more often. If it's not a window unit, & is a free-standing unit, you might have to empty a water pan or tank on it. As condensation collects on the cooling coils, it collects in a container near the bottom. If it's full of water, it will cycle the cooling off until you empty the water container or some of the water in it evaporates.

When turning on my sisters GE ASH10ABS1 window air conditioner it starts and then shuts off with a E-1 code reading. What is causing this proplem?

E-1 Indicates a function error. Turn the unit OFF and unplug it for 5 minutes. Then plug it back in and turn it ON. That brief timeout, should have allowed the electronics to reset and revert back to the original factory setting. Now, you can adjust the controls as you like.

To further assist you, I have included a link to the Owner's Manual that you can download and print for future reference. http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-7472.pdf

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Error code E39 for Mitsubishi Heavy Industry Ceiling cassett type

E39 Fault is thermister, Mitsubishi way of saying im not going to start because there is something wrong. Generlly it is compressor fault or short of gas. Im guessing if you turned the power out. Waited twenty seconds, turn it back on. Now if you go to the outdoor part. Wait exactly 3 mins. If you hear the compressor try to start and fail then it would more then likely be your compressor if you dont hear anything and the unit faults out it will either be a board or short of gas.

Either way If the unit is under five years old get a warrenty agent out to look at it.

Sorry I couldnt tell you for sure but MHI are very vague when it comes to fault codes

Hwo to change oil filled heater thermostat

You would have to drain the oil, look on the side normaly under the cover you would vind a drain plug.
After you replaced the thermostat , you just need to put the oil back, remember to tilt it to the side, throw the oil slowly so you dont cause any air lock's. then put the plug back and your set.

Good luck..
