We Have an I160 Kodak scanner that won't turn on, We thought it was the adapter. We bought another adapter and it worked for about 45 minutes and stopped working, The adapter was not a kodak adapter...it was an equivilent. If it's not the adapter what could it be. It's about 3 years old.

The Printer access cover which is right under the output tray - lift this cover to access the feed module release
knob and the optional Enhanced Printer for changing printer positions
and maintenance. The scanner serial number and K number are also
located in this area. ---> All of this is located in the User Manual, FYI.
If you are using windows 7 and it doesn't support your scanner get a program called Vue Scan, it works with nearly all scanners and it will save you buying a new one. it is available quite easily just google it
Depending on the usage of the scanner, you can try cleaning first. Kodak recommends rollers be replaced every 125,000 scans.
1. Open the scanner and use compressed air to gently clean the rollers. If that does not help, use cotton swabs with alcohol to clean off any residue left on the rollers.
2. Replace the rollers. Part numbers can be found here: parts
You can order the replacement parts directly from Kodak: 1-800-822-1414 (8AM - 8PM ET) Happy Scanning,Myridom
Follow the instructions carefully, and make sure that the scanner and the PC DO NOT turn off while doing the Firmware update. I recomend connecting both to a UPS with a known good battery while doing this upgrade.
This should install the latest features including the one that enables front feed.
take a volt meter and check the power at the end of the power adapter, sounds like it may be a power issue. if all is ok on that end does it still work on the old system? you may have to hook it back up to a working system and see if there is a firmware upgrade for it. Best of luck
it could be a couple things without looking at it. one, the one you got also is bad. two, the bent prints from the first one, may have ruined the interface boared on the scanner. three, are you sure you have it setup for the transparency. four, the bulb could bad on the transparancy adapter.
