You can look anywhere you like at the beginning just to get used to using it. Some people love to metal detect on the beach.

It's best to go to a place that has a high turnover of people at the site over a long period of time. Here are a few suggestions;

Parks, beaches, picnic groves, flea markets, amusement parks and old churches.

What metals can be detected by a metal detector?

Non-Ferrous metal is non-magnetic metals (copper, aluminum, brass, lead, etc.) It will take approximately 50% more of a non-ferrous metal to be as detectable as a ferrous metal. Manganese is also a non-ferrous metal and difficult for most metal detectors to detect. Best Underwater Metal Detector In depth Guide Reviews For 2018

How deep do most metal detectors go?

If you are looking for gold or other precious metals that are buried deeper than one meter, you need a 2-box metal detector. Unlike traditional coin detectors, which are made to find smaller individual items, a ground two-box metal detector can penetrate the earth using special search coils that transmit signals. https://detectorly.com/key-things-consider-purchasing-metal-detector-beach

I have a 97 chevy lumina it died while I was driving but all the electrical stuff still works. Now when I try to start it the oil light comes on and the engine won't start

Would start by checking all fuses then check to see if the cars fuel pump is dead. Unplug the air boot from air filter housing, spray a bit of starting fluid or carb cleaner. If car wants to start with spray I'd be looking at the fuel pump. If no change check to see if motor has spark. Pull a wire ground it out on something that's metal and crank, spark should jump to metal (ground).

I have started to get into metal detecting, but the people who do it have all these phrases that they are familiar with and they can be hard to understand. Can anyone help me?

Here is a link to a site called Metal Detecting World. It has so much useful information about metal detection but also has a page with a list of terms and their meanings;

What is coin shooting/ coin detecting?

Coin shooting or coin detecting is when you hunt just for coins only. Some people hunt for any coins in general and the more specialized metal detectors' look for specific types of coins.

There are features on metal detectors that allow you to discriminate your targets. Or you can learn to rely on discrimination patterns to identify targets.

Is it easy to find gold on a beach with a metal detector?

Gold is more valuable than silver and often comes with gem stones etc, so finding it on the beach is a great thing. But - gold has low conductivity and falls into the same range as pull-tabs and foil. So if you sift those types of items out, so that you don't' get so much junk, you could also be sifting out the good stuff.

What is beach combing?

Beach combing is basically metal detecting on the beach. Most metal detectors on the beach are looking for jewelry and coins and in the busy summer seasons, probably can find quite a bit. This is the most popular kind of metal detecting.

We set up our pool filled it and turned on pump for 24 hours then turned on the saltwater system. Immediately tested the copper level with the strip it said 0 so we put system into boost mode and now this...

Metal in the water. When you fill your pool, immediately treat as if you had metal, according to package insructions ... (pump running generally speaking).

I dont know why, it seems metal is sometimes hard to detect ... treat the water anyway. In my area, the stuff costs less than $20.00 which is way cheaper than removing the metal AFTER you find it!
