Reciever says there are headphones plugged in, and there are not!

Sound only works half the time, other times it says headphones are plugged in so no sound comes out.

Possibly a bad connection in the jack or bad solder on the jacks circuit board. First clean the jack with a very little wd40 or similar lubricant then plug in a head phone in and out 5 to 10 times, this should clean the contacts of the swtich in the jack, that signals the micro that headphones are being used. If that doesn't do it take the top off and look at the circuit board for and rings ir cracks in the solder near the jack. Depending on the model could be very easy or fairy difficult.

Good Luck.

Kenwood KR-V7080 reciever will not play through speakers.I can still plug headphones into the reciever and get audio but not through the speakers. Tested the speakers and they still work.

If the speakers used to switch off when the headphone plug was put in the socket, suspect the socket it goes into as being the trouble. It is clearly not connecting the speakers, when the headphone plug is removed.

I have hk 3390 reciever

What I did is bought a splitter, plugged it in the headphone jack at the back of the iMac. One side goes to my computer external speakers and one to my receivers aux input, or tape one input. I works, just make sure that the volume on your iMac is not higher than half way, or your sound might be distorted and your external computer speakers are off. Not unless you want them on. Keep your iTunes EQ set to flat, that also will create unwanted distortion. Use you receiver tone controls if needed. Hope this works for you, that's how I did it.

How to hook up bose headphones to tv

The best way to get sound to connect to the headphones would be if you had an audio system connected to your tv, like an audio reciever. Then you could just plug the headphones into that and voila, you have sound. Also recievers give better audio quality. The other thing I would suggest is getting wireless headphones and connect them to the tv itself. But then they wouldn't be your Bose phones. Hope this helps. Cheers.

No sound without headphones

i had the same prob. just try blowing into the headphone jack or unplugging and plugging back in the headphones into the headphone jack a couple of times. there must be some sort of problem with the headphone jack that makes the phone think that the headphones are still in or something.

My last Reciever, I had wireless speakers that worked by plugging into the headphone jack. When the wireless transmiter was plugged into the headphone jack I still had sound coming out of the main...

Your system is designed to interrupt the signal flow once headphones are attached. It can not be changed without internal modifications. There is no control to do this.

No sound from the TV when the headphones are plugged in.

if you have a stereo unit(am+fm reciever) that has output to speakers, connect the out jack of the tv to input on back of stereo unit(aux in or cd input) then you can have output to headphone and speakers also.

No sound coming through my Sennheiser wireless headphones

Turning the transmitter on and off (Fig. 5)
Turn on the sound source. This automatically activates the
transmitter and the green LED “ON/OFF” lights up. If the sound
source is turned off, the transmitter is automatically deactivated
after approx. 3 minutes (the LED “ON/OFF” goes off).
Note: The automatic level control only functions if the volume of the
sound source is sufficient.

No sound driver

Turn the power off. Wait about 10 seconds, then power up again get close to the reciever and listen for a click-not from the speakers ,fromthe recievers itself. If you hear a click, you can assume that the power supply is ok for that cercuit. This does'nt eliminate the power supply, but it will do for now.Put the speakers close to the reciever, what you will do now is to power up the reciever while listening to the speakers with the volume off.In about 3-5 seconds you should a hear a slight click from the speakers. Try this with both speakers if you don't plug in a pair of headphones to the headphone jack and play the source . If you still no sound with headphones you at least now know that the output transistors are not the problem or the only problem. The power amp., section are defected also.Message whatever happens.
