Someone close to you may have a similar model of TV. Try and block the IR Receiver on the TV from all directions except the one you point the remote from. If it stops, you may have to find out who else has the same TV and find some way to block the signal

Do a reset to your TV; and check. If it do not help you, contact any service technician.
There are two types of reset to TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight; will be better. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.

Hi, I have an older JVC TV and I am trying to figure out which button to press to switch the tv from cable mode to DVD mode so I can view a movie. Can you help me?

in most cases there is a video/auxillary button on the tv or remote that allows you to switch between such. other times there could be a mode button or in really old tv's you just keep changing the channel until your device comes up. usually between channel 0-3

I bought a LC DVD 199A in November for a Christmas present. Until today, I have not tried to used the DVD player because I haven't really had a chance. I put the source mode to DVD but the DVD...

The DVD player has a problem with the loading mechanism. Probably something has dropped inside it such as a coin or something else. It is really a simple problem. The reason why it would switch back to TV is because it is getting stucked. Get a flashlight and see if it has foriegn ofbect inside the slot. If you can remove it somehow it is the best way to fix it. I don't recommend opening the device.

When playing DVD, image sometimes dark incl. closed caption

1> sometimes supply of low voltage causes some disturbance in trasmitting video signals,it results in darker images while watching.

2> The DVD may have some scratchs or dust-spots or rough-coat on its recording surface ( reflecting LASER beam ) clean DVD and operate again.

3> your DVD player's SMPS (switched mode power supply ) circuitary fails to perform its function properly and giving irregular supply to video-audio card of the DVD player because of having some failure of electronics component housed on this circuitory.

4> switch the mode among 'PAL' , 'NTSC' , 'AUTO' and OTHER in playback mode options ,one by one taking  some minutes.

Now , your problem is solved , Enjoy,Bi.

These sets work best in their native mode. Your DVD player most likely cannot address the set in its native mode.

When not in the native mode, the aspect ratio has to be compromised.

You should call Viewsonic for more detailed information and if there are any offsets that you can adjust.
