Question about IBM /Netvista 6790 ATX 160W Power Supply (24P6828) Power Supply

RAM and Hard Disc-upgradation

I have the mother board SL 75 DRV2 (VIA Apollo KT266A Series).
I like to upgrade the RAM higher than 512 MB which I use at present and the Hard Disc upto 80 GB i.e above 40 GB which I use at present.
My question is whether this motherbard will support the higher version of RAM and Hard Disc. If supports, please mention, what type of RAM (DDR2 SDRAM) and what type of Hard Disc I may use. This is very urgent. Thank you, From A.N.Paul.

Can you tell if the flashing is a pattern. count the flashes ( long and short) in a cycle. This will provide an error code to hopefully discover the problem.
You may also try removing and reseating the RAM and Video card, blowing out the connectors with compressed air before reseating.. Also look closely at the components on MB for any signs of swelling, leaking, burning etc. I suspect the MB.

Regarding 250W SMPS

250 watt is low under any circumstances, I'd upgrade atleast to a 450 or higher, around 650watt to be extra safe.

Should i upgrade power supply and how much ?

watts is very small impulses of current, volts is a stead powerful current. If you are going to upgrade your power supply you just want to upgrade the watts to the next biggest which is 500watts.

Here is a link to a wattage caluculator to tell you how much you should have:

Want to upgrade power supply to be compatible with my computer

This is a common misconception about pwr supplies. What is important are the connectors (type and number). The simplest way is to remove the power supply and match the mother board connectors(the 2 different ones) and the number of pin connectors you need for the drives. I could not find a picture of the mother board to tell you which ones will fit but if you have a used computer dealer in your area he can. The physical match up is what is important as the pin outs are tech standard. Hope this helps.

as i think ur processor over heated. or processor can dos not work fine or heat sink not installed properly. remove heat sink, and use heat sink component (a whithe colour gel. u can buy it any computer accessories shop) use it top of ur processor then attached heat sink. and connect processor fan. before installing heat sink check processor fan. then cleare CMOS by removeing battery (because this problem also can happen wrong frequency setting in CMOS setting).
