I've got bigger problems with this NEW blackberry.

The roller ball to manage the application window WILL NOT

roll horizontally left and right. In other words it

can't be taken for granted that I can use the phone

and my calling plan to the fullest capacity.

This is a new phone - purchased less than 24 hours ago.

I've known other friends to have the same problem.

I should have learned from them.

Does the sim-card work in another phone? If yes, then you should try a software restore with application loader. If that also fails, the only way to get it up and running again is to open yourblackberry to physically replace the anteanna or logic board. If you want somebody else to doit for you go to Blackberry Repair. If you want to do it yourself, here is a Blackberry curve Repair Guide that shows how, the part is available on Ebay.

Get message when trying ti connect to internet......unable to connect to the internet, please try again later.....if problem persists please contact your administrator.....been like it for months

Is there a blackberry symbol near your wireless signal strength indicator (top right corner of home screen)? If the blackberry symbol is there, then you are connected to the RIM network, just don't have an internet connection from your service provider, or it is blocked by your BES network administrator if you are on a work phone.

If you are paying your service provider for data access, then you should contact them as it is likely a problem with your account. If you are on a work device, then you should contact your IT department as either the internet is disabled on their devices, or there is a problem with the settings relating to your device.

If messages are still going through fine for email and BBM, then it isn't a problem with your phone, but with whatever service it is connected to.

Internet no longer working

Dear JenBrodar,

it looks like your internet connection is struggling to get enough signal to connect your blackberry. I am not sure which network provider you are with and what kind of data package usage you have in your tariff but you can try this. pull out your blackberry battery from back without switching off your blackberry, then pull out SIM card and leave everything out for 1min then put it back everything. try to use internet when you see it has recognize again your network provider and you are getting full signals.

if this doesn't help then please provide more details about exact blackberry model number, mobile network provider and if you know about data service usage. in simple language data services enables you to use internet on your blackberry.

hope this helps and works fine.

Many Thanks.

I can't make calls from my Blackberry 7290

Check on the right hand corner of your device for the vertical signal bars - 5 bars indicate full strength and 1 indicate very low signal. "OFF" indicates the radio is off and need to be turned on.

In case signal strength is good, you should be able to make and receive calls. In case it does not work, just try taking the battery out and put it back after 15 seconds and try again.

In case signal strength is low , either you are in a low signal zone or your SIM card is bad. Take the SIM card out, wipe the gold plated surface using a clean tissue, put it back and try again.

In case the radio is OFF, turn it on by clicking on the icon (Turn Wireless on) on the home page.

Blackberry locked

Select "unlock" and type in the password. The device will allow you 10 trials and after that it will delete all old data and allow you to set your own password.

In case you do not want the password, go to options > security > password - press space bar to disable
