Updating action replay for 1st time - deleting for over 2 hours
I am trying to update the cheat codes for my two sons and I went thru all of the steps listed in the instructions (downloading software, connecting the DS to my computer, using Quick Update, etc...) but for some reason I have seen the same message on the DS saying that it is "updating" but it has been doing the same thing for over 2 hours now and no changes. It seems that something is wrong but I don't want to just disconnect everything for fear that I will do something worse to the DS.

when i did this i had the same problem but while it does recognise it for just a little whyle, quickly press quick update and wait for the bar to go from one side to the other and then wait for it to update your action replay from a to z and then it should recognise it after that but if not just do it again but dont push the wire in to far ok
Remove all the action-replay enabled cheats and try again. If this doesn't solve the problem, the game has been corrupted, although this is highly unlikely because action replay should not be able to do this. If your son still wants to use cheats, have him use one cheat at a time and gradually add more to find out where the limit is where the game breaks.
I'm not sure if you're asking for cheat codes for use with Ridge Racer DS for the Nintendo DS, or Ridge Racer V for the Playstation 2 - Unfortunately, neither game has actual cheats built into them. You can, however, use a hex editor tool (also referred to as a Trainer, Gameshark, or Action Replay), which would allow you to cheat.
cool buddy, heres what you gonna do,first the action replay must be inserted in the ds lite, and before you turn on the ds,press the select+start+A+B buttons at hte same time.that will format the action replay.now try updating it again on the pc and all your agames should come back.
1/ With the console powered off, hold A+B. 2/ Power up the console while still holding A+B. 3/ As soon as the Nintendo screen is displayed, before our screen stating this product is not endorsed by Nintendo, press and hold Start and Select while keeping hold of A+B. 4/ Continue to hold these buttons until the Main Action Replay screen is displayed, then release. Your product is reset, and will accept codes once more.
okay the same dang thing happened to me and i do have an answer but make sure you keep this in mind in the future the most likely reason that happened was while the action replay was saving you turned your game off don't do that i did it twice and well it sucks big time but in case you do it again save this to your desktop by copying and pasting on a notepad okay! the fix is simple: Try resetting the hardware by following these steps: 1/ With the console powered off, hold A+B. Your product is reset, and will accept codes once more.
also afterwards you need to know a game id ill give you my metroid game's click add new game and type in a letter or two randomly and click the next button thingy then type in
AMHE-187B29B5 and click next after that have your game in the action replay and start the game up as soon as you see your games beginning credits you can switch off the ds and it will then be able to be updated!
also after you fix your ds spread this on forums like this one as answers to people's questions so that other people won't spend forever finding an answer like we did!
