Hi, It sounds like crank seals or your fuel pump to me. It blows pressure from one cycl to the other, they were known for that.. I would try the fuel pump first. Hope that helps.

I have a polaris snowmobile and it starts up great, idles fine, but after running it about 200 yards or for about 30 mins it dies and wont start up for 10 mins or so. What could cause it to do this,

The problem is the needle valve in your carb is partially clogged. It's not letting enough gas into your carb fast enough. You let it sit for 10 mins and it slowly fills the carb's bowl back up. Then you ride it and it empties the bowl of gas faster than the needle valve can keep it full and the snowmobile dies. Get the carb cleaned and it will fix your problem

I have a 2008 polaris sportsman 500HD the damb thing has been nothing but problems ever since i got it, right now the damb thing won't even run, here's what its doing, when you start it and put it in drive...

It sounds like your carburetor is gummed up. This is a common problem if the engine has not been run in a while or if has been stored for the winter without fuel stabilizer. You may also have gotten some bad gas, or a fuel treatment that wasn’t compatible, (if you ran one).

If you are familiar with your machines carb; dismantle, clean, inspect components, replaced damaged items and reassemble.

If you are not familiar I suggest taking it to your local service center.

Let me know if this helps. Good luck.

The atv starts with the choke on and idles great. When i go to throttle it bogs down and shuts off with an ocasional small backfire

you need to clean out the carburetor, the gas isn't getting through it. the bogging is caused by all the gas going into the engine cause of the choke, it dumps raw fuel into the engine and cant burn it all, there fore bogging and acting sluggish, the back firing is caused by the same thing, too much fuel going into the engine and being deposited in the pipe and igniting occasionally, clean the carb out and it will run fine

2005 Mercury 50hp 2-stroke outboard motor very sluggish when accelerating, stalled twice when trying to exceed 50% throttle capacity. Last time I used my boat was about two months ago, so I don't think bad...

The carberator is gravity fed and there is propbably gunk in it, when you give it more throttle, it needs more gas but can't get it. Then a build up of gas in the float bowl occurs and nothing works right. It has happened to me and its aggravating, do a complete rebuild on the carb or just replace it and you will be happier quicker.

Hope this helps, Coachtheune

Engine shuts down after like 15min of running

Could be an igniton problem. Next time the engine shuts down like this quickly pull the plugs and see if any are damp. This would indicate a failure to fire caused by some part of the ignition system malfunctioning when warm. The crankshaft position sensor, ignition coils or the computer could be at fault.

Yamaha 570 exciter..wont start or run when cold

You need a richer mixture than normal in a cold engine. It sounds like your machine is too lean on the idle circuit. Turn the air screw in on each carb to richen it up. Also, verify the choke is working properly.

93 polaris xlt tripple wont run to full potential

The issue I had with my 94 was due to an oil adjustment, wich you can find below the carbs. It ran great at full throttle but once it sat at idle, the plugs would get wet and the same type of bog would accure. Get new plungs and make sure all three are firing first, if they are then the oil adjustment is off. If not sorry to say but you may have a bad coil.

Just had same problem. Take carbs off and clean all jets and bowl. Be carful front and rear carb have different sized jets. When you put quad back together put entire airbox together even the cover. This quad will backfire unless air box is complete. I bet you anything your carb is full of trash.
