The Easy rip Software can be obtained from RCA's website - it is constantly changing - the latest for your player is

RCA Opal - Stuck on "Initializing"?

Go to this website to reload the firmware:*&p_li=&p_topview=1

Note: websites are subject to change - if you go to and go to the page for the RCA Opal m series, you can also find the firmware reload on that page.

easyRip does not come on a CD, the installer comes preloaded on the device (rcaeasyRip_setup.exe)

If this file is no longer on your device, you can download the latest version from the Audiovox help web site here:

I lost the disk to my RCA Opal and I am wondering if I can still download music from i tunes. Is their free downloads that would help me with this problem?

You can only put non-DRM iTunes music on your Opal (.m4a I think is the extension unprotected music, so if your music has this extension you sould be ok)

There is no important disk that comes with the RCA Opal. You can run the easyRip installer and during the install it will prompt you whether you want to "import" media from iTunes to easyRip (all this process really does is map to it, not copy it) and any media that gets imported by easyRip can be transferred to your player using easyRip's Player Loader module.

You can download easyRip from the RCA site here:

Even if you have the installer on the device, you should still make sure you have the latest version of easyRip from:

Make sure the device is connected to a USB port on your computer and that the device is in MSC mode (that is the default mode out of the box, but couldn't hurt to double-check)

I made a grave error

I resolved my error and maybe you should try uninstall, install one more time.
For what ever reasons, I uninstalled the programs then reinstalled the program and the files are complete again.
I know I did this once before and it did not fix the problem either times so perhaps you can try it one more time.
Simply ask the RCA software to uninstall from your pc harddrive, making sure that all the files have been removed including any RCA Detective and EasyRip. Then go to the RCA website and sort through the Support and Download Updates and find the EasyRip software you can download for free from the site and follow the instructions, making sure that your player is connected to the pc while you install the software again.
Good luck and give that a try. Tell us your results here.

Rca easyrip installer: You must have a supported rca digital media player connected to complete the rca easy rip installation.......?

Some PCs, such as Dell laptops, report unexpectedly when easyRip is determining whether a device is connected via one of the USB ports, so trying an alternative port is recommended.

You can download the latest version of easyRip at the following site:
