Question about Olympus Camedia E-10 Digital Camera
I have an old Olympus E10 that I retired from service so my wife could use it for shooting our kids. This past week for some odd reason the camera all of a sudden has gone "black." If you look through the viewfinder you can't see any image and the same is true for the LCD panel. I have checked everything and I can't find out what the problem is. It was working fine one minute and then the next it goes black. If I point the camera down and there is a light source above me I can see faint glows of light on the LCD screen if I go into that mode. It will still attempt to take a picture but the image is, as you guessed it, black. Can anyone help me on this or is the camera just given up the fight? Thanks for you help.I was on an adventure (3 hour) trip on a squar rigger and after 5 pictures the view finder went black, and while I can still press the shutter and it will take (black) pictures, the display that normally shows F-Stop and Shutter speed isn't changing, even when pointed at a bright source. It looks to me that the mirror that flips up when you take a picture is stuck in the up position. I think that it should be a simple fix if I could just figure a way to remove the lens without breaking some thing. In the process of trying to figure it out I've now dropped and lost one of the screws. Anyone know how this lens comes off?
Remove the batteries for 1 minute and reinsert and checkj out.also if the batteries are too old replace them.
