Question about Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004
I have been using Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004 for years now to do FTP activity then yesterday, I can't connect to my server. I get these messages:
"The connection to the remote host has been lost. Click Refresh to reconnect."
"An FTP error occurred-cannot get remote folder information. Dreamweaver could not connect to the server. Please check your network connection and try again."
I've checked my website, it's up and running. I checked my network connection on the control panel and the exception for Dreamweaver is still there. My exception for Dreamweaver on my firewall is still there. Any ideas?
I would suggest that your server ip address has possibly changed. I would contact the people who support your server and ask them if anything has changed.
the fact that your website is up and running does not mean that the FTP should work. Very often your FTP server is physically separate to your web server
