If you dont even get a yellow light, red light, let alone a green when its plugged then its eather a faulty outlet or bad power supply.

Check the power cord. The problem is a faulty powe supply.

Check first that the power cord is well plugged.
Test a different outlet, and if you have another power cord test it.

If it still has no power then the psu board has blown, usually a blown capacitor.

In that case find a local repair shop to fix it.

Gateway desktop screen is black

Swap the cables between the PC and the monitor. Does the fault stay with the monitor or switch to the PC? If it switches, your power lead is dead (possibly a blown fuse). If it stays, your monitor is probably dead.

When turn on computer there is a sound signal from computer but the monitor has no picture but monitor is okey.

This sounds like a dead motherboard.
you should reset the cmos (using a jumper) or remove all power cords, battery and the cmos battery. wait 10 mins and put everything back.

The second option is a dead power supply. The only way to check that is to replace it with a new one.

I have a zx4351, touch sreen wireless gateway desk top computer , i had cable co. today to hook it and now my screen does not turn on and has no power going to it what is it?

Your desktop tower/cpu tower has to be turned on to give those hardware power. If you can't turn on your computer then that means you have an internal problem with your motherboard etc. If everything else powers up except for the screen/monitor your video is dead. Find someone you know that has an extra monitor and hook it up to your tower, if it works then it's not your video but the monitor instead.

Have a Pavilion Desktop HP with upgrade from vista to windows 7 ultimate. Turned the power on and no blue light and no monitor yet the fans were running. Computer monitor said no input and went back to...

Your computer has served you bravely and is now wounded in battle.

arfoob43 either your power supply has died or you computer mainboard is toast.

See my published guide dealing with this matter it is entitled My Computer is not turning on!!! Is it dead!!! No POST!!!

To actually fix it requires a bit of electronics skill. First you will have to diagnose the component that has failed and then solder in the replacement component.

Take care

I turn it on and it powers up (the fan comes on), but nothing else comes on. The monitor won't come on, the keyboard does not flash, and I can't hear if the hard drive is doing anything or not.

This is difficult to diagnose without more information, but here are some things you can try.
If you have another monitor, plug that in and see if anything comes up on screen. Unless the motherboard is completely dead, when you turn it on, it should at least flash something (logo, some text, etc).
Check the connection from the power supply to the motherboard. The power supply is the big rectangular shaped box with a lot of wires coming out of it. It is usually gray, and on the outside it has the power plug connector. On newer motherboards the connection for the power supply is a double row rectangular wide plug. ragefuljoe.gif

However, from what you said, it sounds like the motherboard might be dead. The keyboard should blink, and on most motherboards the blink sequence tells you if there is a problem.

When turning on my emachine desktop the monitor states no signal someone suggested that I need a fuse, Where would that fuse be located?

hello if the monitor wanted a fuse .. then it wont turn on.. which means its getting power !!!
you problem is the pc ,or monitor cable fell out at the back of pc, or you may have a defective memory stick ,that if the pc is getting power and you are seeing light on the pc.. if the pc is dead nothing lighting.. no beeps, not even the optical not opening then you have a power supply problem,
if u had a surge be it went dead try this, unplug system for 5 mins, the plug it back in, try powering on.. if still nothing , most likely , memory, video card or power supply is defective, but i think. its your memory if getting power

When the computer is turned on a No Signal message appears on the monitor.

the graphics card is possibly dead or the lead to the monitor is unplugged, also possibly the monitor is dead. Try another monitor first if you get a display then it is the monitor.

Dell computer monitor wont come on when I turn

When you turn on most dell monitors they come on with a yellow light, then turn green when the monitor and video source synch. If your light is not turning from yellow to green, your monitor is either dead or not getting a signal from the video source it's plugged into. Verify in your BIOS settings that you have selected to output video through an installed card and not from the motherboard source. If the BIOS settings are correct, your monitor has died. If the light is turning green after you turn the computer on, press the menu button on the monitor and adjust the brightness/contrast until you have a picture. If you don't see anything when the menu button is pressed, then again your monitor is likely dead.

Emachine T3414 monitor

Turn off the computer and monitor. Disconnect the monitor. Turn on the monitor. You should get some indication the monitor is on, if not it is probably dead.

If the monitor seems to be on, try to enter the menu by using the buttons or knobs on the monitor. If the menu comes up, the monitor is probably good and you have a computer problem.

If you think the monitor is bad, hook it up to an operational computer. If it works, you definitely have a computer problem; if not the the monitor is definitely dead.

Either way try to have the problem resolved under the warranty.

HP Flat Panel Monitor is dead!

The power supply within the monitor has probably expired. HP doesn't do spare parts for their TFT monitors as they are Full Unit Replacement items (if in warranty).
