Question about Westinghouse Refrigerators
Westinghouse 2 door frost free fridge is not getting cold air down into the fridge compartment. I have set the freezer compartment to minimum cold (to allow maximum air to pass down to the fridge compartment) and set the temperature to maximum as suggested in the manual to remedy such a situation. Did not appear to work. I have removed the fan and air distribution covers and checked all seals to ensure there is no cold air short circuiting or bypassing. The fan operates freely and there is no blockage in the air ducts down to the fridge compartment.
The freezer is operating with the cold air readily cirulating in the freezer, but there is no cold air getting down below.
I have also had excessive moisture in the bottom of the fridge over the last few weeks and this is most likely a related problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
If all else fails I would completely defrosted the unit.If there is any blockage this will open up all the tubes.Unplug it open the doors put pans of hot water in the freezer to speed up the process.
Make sure your fan is still working ,its located behind the freezers back wall. If it is working the vent from the freezer down to the refridgerater may be blocked. With out a fan you have no circulation but your freezer may look likes its working,it may last 3 days. Also if you can move everything out unplug it turn it off w/ doors open 12 to 24 hrs this will free up any clogged tubes. Good luck.

I have found the best way to defrost my not quite frost free fridge-freezer is to empty the freezer compartment contents into the fridge and switch it off overnight, leaving the fridge door shut and the freezer door open. By stacking all the frozen food together as tightly as possible, ideally wrapped in something to help insulate them (such as newspapers) they stay cold for a long time. In the morning I get in my scruffy clothes and wipe up the puddles caused by the visible frost in the freezer and any puddles formed underneath the appliance. However this is only half the story. To ensure all the frosting has been removed from the hidden parts of the appliance I get my hair dryer and blast warm air into all appropriate crevices from inside the appliance and from behind it.
