Change the=> 67006531 Water Inlet Valve I believe the side of your 67006531 Water Inlet Valve that controls water flow to the ice maker has weakened and cannot open properly. Replace the water valves and I believe the ice maker will work fine, Sea Breeze
A lot of filters ( not all ) do not even access the ice maker . Only the water dispensor . If your water dispensor is working fine , then you need to replace the dual water inlet valve behind the refrig . This is the piece the wall water line connects to . It is called a dual valve because there are 2 coils on the valve . 1 for the ice maker and 1 for the water dispensor .
Check that there wasn't a clog in the line after replacing the filter. Make sure you get water going to the solenoid, if so, it may either be a clog in the solenoid or a fluke that it's no longer working.
it depends on your model. was the i/m making ice b4 you replaced the wtr filter? if so, reinstall your filter again. i/m's normally rest or stop in the 2 o'clock position. are the teeth are stuck anywhere? it could be your i/m.
Hi: Change or just remove the water filter first. As your water dispensing slowed that is a clue. If the water filter is that clogged it will cause a problem with the ice maker. Plus the water you drink is not filtered anymore. City water is being run through 2 years of crud. If you don't replace it just remove it. I hope this helps, Jeff
I bought a brand new smartwater replacement filter and after a very short time, my water stopped coming through the door.. took out the new replacement filter and inserted a brand new one .. problem solved.. apparently some of the g.e. smartwater filter replacement cartridges don't have the high enough two plastic inserts which are attached to them at the top of the filter when you screw them on... if you have taken your cartridge in and out a few times, i think it wears down the plastic so it doesn't fit properly and won't put up whatever it is supposed to push up to make the water come through.. I personally think this is a g.e. problem with the replacement filters...
The filter does effect somewhat the flow of the water. For some people having problems with ice dispensing it may be as simple as lifting the metal shut off bar up and down. Then check the top of the ice tray to make sure no ice is stuck up there. When you move the metal bar up and down you should see the plastic dispenser that pushes the ice out turning or rotating. Hope this helps.
