    via your recovery cd

  • DEKR
    DEKR Feb 16, 2009

Please follow instructions for system restore/repair

let me know if you need further assistance

If the repair process does not detect any problems starting Vista, it will display a list of recovery tools. These recovery tools are discussed further in the Advanced Tools Overview section below. As we want to perform an automated repair, we would click on the Startup Repair option under this list of tools. It should also be noted that if the repair process detected that you previously had problems starting Vista, instead of displaying the list of recovery tools, it would have automatically started the Startup Repair tool for you. When the Startup Repair tool starts, it will scan your Vista installation for any problems. If problems are found it will attempt to fix these problems automatically. This automatic repair process can be seen in Figure 5 below.

this will restore system to an earlier date

Try this solution to your problem.

Start your computer
1. Keep pressing "F1,F2 or F8" as the laptop computer starts.(Depending on your computer)
This will start the computer in Safe Mode.
2. When the window "Advanced Boot Options" opens, choose "Safe Mode" with arrow key and confim by pressing the Enter key, then PC enters the Safe Mode.
3. Once you are in the Safe mode Click "Administrator" on the Windows login screen.
Take note that you have set the Administrator password before, you need to input the changed password instead of leaving "Password" field blank.
4. Then click Start > Control Panel > User Accounts > Select the account that is locked and change the password.
5. Restart laptop and login into the account you just created using your new password.
Please take time to rate me thumbs up

Try the system restore option. If you cant access it in Windows then try it in safe mode.
Reboot the PC.While in the boot mode hold down f8 key. This will give a menu with "Safe mode" option. Choose safe mode, hit enter let it load. While in safe mode go to system restore and then chose a date prior to the problem.

HP DV4 displays only a blue screen running vista

Shutdown the computer,disconnect external peripherials.
Turn on the computer and hit F8 key as soon as you restart the computer
You will get the windows advance options menu.
Select the Safe mode option and hit enter.
If the computer boots in safe mode, do a system restore to previous date.
If computer restore then issue is resolved.
If still unable to boot in safe mode.
Ran a harddrive diagnostic. If harddrive test passes. If harddrive test fails replace harddrive.
Boot the system using the windows xp or vista operating system disk. Try to repair the OS then reboot the system and check.
If still unable to boot possible issue with corrupt operating system.
Reinstall Operating system. / Recover System . Good Luck.

Safe mode set up in sony laotop

When powering up from a cold start press F8 as if tapping on a piano. You may get a boot from what screen first, in this case press Escape and then F8 immediately thereafter. You should then see a Safe Mode Selection boot screen. Options include, Last Known good configuration. Often this is a good choice. Sometimes you are presented with a selection of Restore Points to choose from as well. These all depend on the Bios you have and what version of that bios is installed.

Do the F8 tap tap until you get the Safe Mode boot screen. When you do choose Safe Mode, you are then asked what OS to boot, usually this is only the version of XP or Vista you have onboard. In any case take that and press Enter again.

Don't dismay should you not get the F8 key press right the first time, there is a certain knack to it.

Regards,
Worldvet

start your machine...when the sony screen disappears press F8 (to get safe mode options) one of these options is a vista startup repair....choose that one.....takes a couple of minutes to fix and boot into windows so be patient....the reason you have this problem is the user profile has become corrupt but windows vista corrects this with startup repair

well..battery has little to do with windows starting..try it again, pressing F8 when loading up..that goes to Safe mode, where you do some troubleshooting.
