Hi,
The USB socket is above & to the left of the ink cartridge slot. Here is a link for the manual, on pg 15 is a diagram for you to see. If this helps, plz rate this 'fixya'. Thank you kindly.

Printer offline

You did not specify if printer was formerly working, the model # of the printer, or what version of Windows you are using. All this information is needed for successful troubleshooting. However, the below is general resolution for your problem:

"Offline" means your computer cannot "see" the printer as connected and powered on.

In order of things to try:

1. Turn printer OFF. Unplug USB cord from printer (or other end from computer). Wait at least 30 seconds. Plug USB cord back in. Turn printer back on. Does it still show as "offline" under Start --> Devices & Printers?

2. Try replacing the USB cord (yes, they can and do go bad).

3. Turn printer off. Unplug USB cord.
Under Windows Start --> Printers and Devices:
RIGHT click the Konica printer icon. Select "uninstall" (or "remove device") and follow through until printer is successfully UNinstalled. If there is other Konica software installed, remove it also (via Start --> Control Panel --> Add/Remove Programs -or- Programs & Features).

4. Reboot your computer. Follow manufacturer printer installation procedure, step-by-step (consult mfr website if you do not have a printed installation manual). Do not plug in USB cord or turn on printer until instructed to do so.

If all else fails:

Ignore any manufacturer installation instructions.
Do # 3 only above.
Reboot computer.
Plug in printer and connect it to computer.
Let Windows try to automatically install it (in most cases, Windows can install the "basic" print drivers, which are smaller and sometimes more stable than the fancy drivers and excess software the manufacturer wants you to install).

If still no go, you probably have a dying or dead printer. Consult manufacturer website for help.

Printer not being recognized by computer

Sir/Madam

1. Is the printer turned on?
Make sure the printer is turned on.
Make sure the power cord is securely plugged into the electrical outlet.
Test the power by plugging in the power cord of another electrical appliance to an electrical outlet and turn it on. If the power to the other electrical appliance comes on, the printer may be considered to be faulty.
If this product is recognized:
Close this page to return to the installation window.
If this product is not recognized:
Proceed to the next step.
2. Are your computer and the printer correctly connected?
Make sure the USB cable is securely connected to the printer and to your computer and check that the USB cable is not damaged nor badly crimped.
The printer will not be recognized during the driver installation if connected to a printer switch or the printer buffer. If this is the case, try to directly connect the printer to your computer using the USB cable.
If you are connecting the printer to your computer via a USB hub, connect the printer to the first-tier hub from your computer. If the printer driver is still not recognized on your computer, try to directly connect the printer to your computer without the USB hub.
If you are connecting the printer to your computer via a USB hub, make sure the USB hub device is recognized by your computer.
If this product is recognized:
Close this page to return to the installation window.
If this product is not recognized:
Proceed to the next step.
3. Does your computer provide USB or IEEE 1394 support?

I bought the HP Deskjet 5650, but I'm not sure how to install it to my home computer.

First find the installation disk that came with your printer in the box. Install the software by placing the disk in your CDROM of your computer and then follow the instructions on the screen. when the software has finished installing, connect your printer to the computer with your USB cord and the computer will automatically do the rest.

Some operating systems already have the driver for your printer and the software is not necessary. To check and see if your computers operating system already has the necessary drivers, just connect your printer via your usb cord. Your computer will recognize the printer once the cord is connected and you will see a pop up message around the right hand corner of the monitor screen that says "new equipment detected" and the computer will do the rest.

Good luck!

I have an epsonNX300 and I don't know which cord to is the one to plug into my printer and computer.

This printer connect to USB port, cord for it is about 1.8m (6') long, on one end it have flat connector, this connector will go to your USB port on the back of your computer (check which way! one side have connector, it should slip easy into the port!), another end is more on the square side (tapered sides on one edge!), this square bit is connecting to your printer, again, align cable correctly to the port!

Please visit this site to have look how USB cable looks:

http://www.accesscomms.com.au/products/w2730.htm

To install this printer correctly:

1. remove printer from the box, remove all packing and tapes (about 100miles of tape all around.... :-)), follow instruction how to set up your printer from attached booklet
2. install software (drivers) on your computer,
3. connect printer to power
4. when called, connect usb cable to printer and computer.
5. finish installation and reboot computer

Hope this will help you setting up the printer, let us know how succesfull you were!

Hello,

Please try to unplug all cables connected in your printer to your computer and wait for 20 minutes then plug the cable back and turn on your computer. Make sure that you have installed your printer driver before correctly and make sure that your driver is supported with your operating system.

Get the manual, and you may need the install disk too. Look carefully at the usb port on the copier so you get the correct usb cord.

Hi esmee

The canle you are looking for is a normal USB Printer cable. You could get it from any computer shop. The same cable is used for USB printers. Please feel free to search in the Repair Service Directory on this site for a supplier close to you.
