Region code on Panasonic in car DVD player

Hi FixYa

I recently bought a Panasonic CQ-VD7005U in car DVD from the USA. I wasn't aware that it would not play Australian region (4) code DVDs because it is locked to the USA region code (1).

How can I change the region codes on the device to accept multi region or Australian codes?

I am aware there is no factory setting to change the region code for this player. I have read that if you transmit the correct infrared code to the unit you can reset the region settings.

Is this true? and is there a code for this unit?

Hi

The DVDs with a region number other than “1” or “ALL” are not supported by Panasonic CQ-VD7005U . You can also refer to Panasonic CQ-VD7005U manual which states the same .

Please revert for any clarifications.

Thanks
Rylee

From the manual:

Region Management Information
This product is designed and manufactured to
respond to the Region Management Information that
is recorded on a DVD disc. If the Region number
described on the DVD disc does not correspond to
the Region number of this product, this product does
not play the disc.

I'm sorry but it doesn't look good. The best solution is to make a backup DVD with software and remove the region from the disc itself.

It must be a region 1 disc or ALL region disc.
There is no setting or way to change the DVD player to play region 2 discs.

Hello

some known hacks for panasonic are posted on this website
http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks

see if your model is listed and try some of the things that are posted for the other models and see if you can unlock it. But its rare to get it to work this way.

Realisticly, you would be cheaper to buy a seperate unit as the cost to intergrate a programme and function would be very costly, let alone the trouble you may have clashing with other features in the unit. Just an opinion, hope it helps. Good luck
